Atmosphere, people, and prices are great. Not the best burger and hot dog I’ve had, so that kept it from a five-star review for me. I’d go for fries over house chips!Food: 4/5
We visited Jay Bees Hot Dogs in Statesville after a day of visiting wineries near Elkin. I am a big fan of hot dogs have grown up near the Roanoke Weiner stand, so I am always on the lookout for a good dog. To me, that means a hot dog with chili, mustard, and onions. So we had to check out this place. We decided to dine in vs. going through the drive-through. You can tell that this place has been in the community for quite some time. The staff seemed to know most of the customers that arrived during our visit. We ordered one platter to share with a second hot dog. The platter comes with a dog, fries we substituted onion rings, and a beverage. They are famous for their footlongs, but neither of us was quite that hungry. One to the dogs. We prefer onion rings to fries, and these did not disappoint. They were hot and tasty right out of the gate. The dogs were prepared the way we wanted. The chili was exceptionally good on these two pups. Now, this is not a fancy place. You should probably not be looking for a fancy place when visiting a hot dog stand. They first opened in 1980 and are still in business forty plus years later. This place was clean, the food was good, and the price was reasonable. We would eat here again
Not as good as I remember. My food was ice cold, and the onions weren’t properly chopped this time.
A true local restaurant since the 1980s and still owned by the same people. Great hotdogs. Worth coming off the road to check out if you like a local fun hotdog place with a very large variety of hotdogs. The hotdogs are smoked not grilled.
JB'S ALWAYS HAD THE BEST HOT DOGS AROUND FIX ALL THE WAY AND THEIR MILKSHAKES OR THE FINEST ALSO LOVE THE PEANUT BUTTER MILKSHAKE THAT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITES FOLLOW BY STRAWBERRY AND CHOCOLATE WHAT THE HECK THEY ALL GOOD FROM THERE I AIN'T FOUND NOTHING YET IT'S NOT GOOD AT THAT PLACE IF YOU WANT TO GET A GOOD MEAL GO TO JB'S GET THE HOT DOGS YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED I PROMISE THEY ARE THE FINEST
I've seen the billboard on I40 for a while and I like hotdogs and local joints so I finally stopped at the drive thru. I ordered a foot long with fries and cherry Pepsi as well as a Johnsonville bratwurst with spicy mustard and kraut. Dessert was something called cherry yum yum! The footling was not bad for brown weenie and the slaw was chunky but worked. Not a big fan of the chili as it tasted like canned Hormel or something akin to that. The brat was split and they are always good from Johnsonville with the mustard and kraut accentuating the flavour. The fries were straight cut and coated and were hot and fresh. The wild cherry Pepsi was good as it always is but the best item was the dessert! Cherry yum yum tasted like cherry cheesecake but looked like banana pudding using cherry pie filling instead...it was worth the visit and I'll be back for morw fo sho...
This is a great place to get fantastic old school drive inn style food! Burgers, BBQ, hot dogs, chili dogs, chicken sandwich. The food is always great and the folks working here are awesome! The owner is always there and takes time to say "hi!".Food: 5/5
Amazing place to get cooked to order food. Hotdogs are awesome and hamburgers are awesome... order the 1 lb cheeseburger with your toppings.. you definitely won't regret it!!! The double dog date is awesome too. Onion rings tator tots fries fried pickles... Can't go wrong with fresh made to order food!!! And the milkshakes are awesome as well. They have Sundaes, dole whip, banana split, cookie dough twist and flavored milk shakes.
Lived here for several years awhile back and unfortunately never ate here. The food was terrific. There are a lot of choices but I recommend the #1 - foot long hotdog meal. The prices are reasonable too.
That, Bratwurst dog. May, actually be, as good as they ever get. I got a #3 ... Added another brat. Oh, and !! They got huge Cookies. Chocolate chip was very good too.Food: 5/5
