girl in the front was so nice and helpful. i loved the huge selection this store had to offer, there were games i didn't even know existed. you could tell there's a lot of care put into the displays, and it's so clean too. have to come back every time i go to this mall
I love Jay St Video Games! Fair price for trade ins. Super friendly staff. Great selection of video games and other nerdy treasures.
I’ve know the owner for awhile but since I live out of state I never got the chance to do business with him. Today I took the plunge, showed him what I have and he sent an offer. I can say with extreme certainty it’s by far the best offer I could have received. I can’t say this loud enough, take your business to Jay Street. Great staff, great owner amazing store, they deserve more than five stars.
Everyone there is always willing to help me with whatever I need. The owner was even kind enough to give me some very insightful advice on trade in values, as well as other things. All great people, and they have a very impressive collection.
Love this place! I drive an hour from Pittsfield to go to the Crossgates mall just to visit this store! The staff are always very polite and helpful not to mention extremely knowledgeable! Prices are very fair!
The owner here is a typical pawn shop scam artist was in desperate need of money so I sold him a bunch of things first of all he gave me less than $100 for $500 worth of Legos unopened which if that wasn't bad enough I had a really rare Charizard Pokemon card that goes for $200 on eBay in any condition mine was in perfect condition and he insisted that he was only going to give me $40 for it because that's what it recently sold for on eBay check eBay later on in the day and he was basing it off of $30 fake card that had recently sold on eBay. If you want to get completely ripped off and basically robbed then do business with this guy if not take your stuff somewhere else.
I contacted the owner on Facebook about trading a modern Grail Pokemon card and he was very professional and friendly. Instructed me to come in, showed me his inventory and we ended up making a great first time breakthrough deal and I will be back. Was close to a $500 deal and I felt comfortable the whole time and left happy. Fr that fire
Selection and trade values have improved with the addition of newer management. A pleasant surprise to see a local business get in hard to find/import goods. A decent spread of higher end goods and used video games. Comparatively priced versus national chains, check here before spending more somewhere else.
Came to leave a review bc I could see some weirdo online trying to get people in a fb garage sale group to leave 1 star reviews here this week bc he didn't like a meme the owner posted. Anyways, I've shopped here for a decade and they always pay more than anywhere else I've found. Everyone is very friendly, especially the girl that works there. Prices are way better than box stores. This place has WAY more 5 stars than negative and that is definitely the general opinion of this store. It's great
Don’t trust the girl that works there! I called November 3 at 11:05am and said I was looking to sell a limited edition Nintendo Switch and asked if they purchased them for more than the base models since I still had all the original packing materials. The gentleman I spoke to said yes, depending on the model and it’s rarity. I said great, I’ll come in after work. I came in that night around 6:10pm and a young blonde woman was working. She had an attitude from the moment we walked in, but I brushed it off since it was late. She looked through all our items, scanned them in, and promptly offered $110 for the switch. I was surprised it was so low, and asked for for the basis of her price since I knew Gamestop would buy it for $105 see picture below and they claim to offer 20% of GS prices. She refused to show us what system she was comparing it to until my husband went back in the store alone and insisted. She showed him a picture of a basic first generation switch aprox $82.00 and insisted that $110 was the best price. When I told her I spoke to someone else that mentioned that limited editions switchs could sell for more, she insisted I was lying and that she’d been the only one working all day. When I mentioned it was a guy, she rolled her eyes and said the owner had been in earlier. From start to finish the entire interaction was HORRIBLE. I ended up going to the Gamestop on Latham to trade in the games and they offered me MORE for the games then she did. I sold the switch for $150 at Past Time Games in Scotia at the recommendation of one of the GS employees who were super nice. Skip this drama and just go to Gamestop for store credit or go to Past Time Games in Scotia or Troy. They’ll give you more.
