For many in this area, shopping here is a great place to get nice clothes in sizes that aren't available in regular stores. They have a good selection and the prices are good when caught during sales. Online is good to find sale prices as well.
Good prices but the sale aid was a little confusing. But I was able to get my daughter a coat for these cold days.
Typical JC Penney store. Only time I can shop there is when there is a big sale

Was standing in line behind an elderly lady while the sales clerk kept hounding her about a credit card. The customer kept saying no, she also stated that she was a recent widower and that she was trying to get out of dept. The sales clerk kept on hounding her about it. Even after telling the clerk no at least three times. After telling the clerk no several times, the clerk said ok we'll get you started and I will help you with the form. My wife who was observing this said to the clerk, I don't think she wants it!! The clerk said Yes she does. The elderly customer said no I don't. It is hard to believe that a clerk has so much disrespectful attitude towards a customer. I will never shop there again.
Dependable, as always. Great prices on great items. However, checkout occasionally takes much longer than it should, depending on the cashier you get.
I use to love going to shop at JCPenney but recently going has not been a very pleasant experience. The store is hot. Employees are seemingly friendly, but they constantly hound you for a credit card. Even after you polity say you are not interested they keep asking. And what they don’t tell you about the credit card is how it hurts your credit, and has a high interest. They somehow talked my husband into it while he was shopping without me one day, and just applying brought his credit down by 3 points. They told him if he would apply he would get like 15% off even it he wasn’t approved, and when they went to apply that 15% they just pulled up the coupon that is on their website for everyone to use. I feel like this is information that should be shared with the costumer beforehand. Not to mention, their clothes for young adults are god awful. I can’t find one thing that isn’t a belly shirt. Probably won’t be returning here for a while. The store that was once the best place to shop in our area, has become a sad rundown store with sad looking employees, a poor selection, and a desperate cash grab from the ceos to get people to sign up for their credit card.
I love JC Penny! Always have! But they could lower their prices. I mean they have a great selection of suits. That's what I needed last time I went. However, it was for my 14 y/o son. I know he's going to outgrow it, but Penny's was the only place I knew of around here where I could buy a suit. So, I bought the jacket, slacks, a shirt, tie, and shoes. Mind you, all of this stuff was 60% off, but I still spent over $300. I can't even imagine if it hadn't been on sale. I live in a place where there are almost no stores. So, I have to travel to get any shopping done. The Mercer Mall is one of my favorite places to shop for clothes.
Nice store. Lots of sales going on. Lots of clearance items. Choices are plenty. Prices are great.
