I am an incoming freshman this year and it’s impossible to get ahold of anyone. I get sent from person to person to person. I’ve been in in person multiple times and classes start soon and I still haven’t been helped with getting my courses. I don’t know which classes to sign up for and it’s been weeks of me trying. It’s so bad that I’m considering switching and calling UofL and telling them what happened and seeing if they will let me start in the fall. I am very disappointed in my experience with this college. It should not be this hard to get help. The communication here is not great. I called hours before they close Friday and Maia Langely told me she’d give me a call back in ten minutes. I called back 30 min later, she was still with a student which is fine but I at least expected a phone call before the day ended. And it’s now Monday July 30, and the phones say they are closed for Winter break. I’ve had colleges pestering me to send in an application and this school, that isn’t even a university won’t even give me a call back or sends me to twenty different people.
My experience with The Jefferson Community and Technical College Shelby Campus was absolutely terrible. The staff was very unprofessional. When I went in to schedule and pay for classes any questions I had went either unanswered or I received false information. There was a very political feel about the place certain people got the help and attention they needed over others. I used this campus to take summer classes as they are cheaper than taking classes at UofL over the summer. Though it's cheaper it is still an investment for a young working college student. I expect to receive quality service and a staff that is willing to assist me with my educational needs. I would recommend someone NOT to attend JCC.
