This place is pretty cool for a family vacation if you have a lot of kids in the family. There's a ton to do for everyone though. The pools, the lake, mini golf, etc...The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cabins are a little old and the beds aren't great but it's not horrible and for camping it does the job. For people that have their own camper and or kids i think this place is great. My family really loves it here and I'll definitely be joining them again next year.
My family and I stayed there 7/09 - 7/15. I will be honest, after reading some of the reviews I was a bit nervous about what to expect. To be fair, the showers weren't the greatest. My family and I wouldn't go in there without wearing shoes. That said, the rest of the trip was great and that wasn't a deal breaker for us. I still managed to feel clean after a shower. Our camper cabin was awesome. My kids had a great time at the water park and doing the other activities. I never felt any concern about the cleanliness of the pools. The mini golf and outdoor theater were awesome as well. They had some cool activities for the kids to do every day. The staff there was great. One thing we learned is if you want a golf cart try and reserve one ahead of time. This was our first time there and we didn't know so we ended up walking a bunch which was fine with us. If you go in to it knowing that it's camp ground that has some fun features and amenities and are comfortable with that, you will have a good time. We will be back next year.
If I could rate the activities and the cabin separate I would, but I will do it here. The activities, water park and beach were amazing. The life guards, shop staff, cafe staff and the activity staff were all so great! Our kids absolutely had the best time. Some of the slides were only open certain hours which was ok with us and worked out well, the kids were able to do what they wanted to do. The bathrooms throughout the day did get a little messy but that is with any water park. The food at the cafe was actually really good and the prices were very reasonable. I would give this all a 5. Now the cabin. We were prepared as I read reviews prior to coming. We went with the expectation that we would have to clean to feel comfortable so we brought gloves, wipes and a sweeper. I was not prepared to have to deep clean the bathroom, it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned all summer. If you get the cabin we were in, you are welcome. I will make a disclaimer that I am a little neurotic when it comes to cleanliness. The cabin will get a 1. I would not come back here and rent a cabin ever. I would rather tent it and will be doing that next year.
Staffing was low so the attractions were not running or turned off early without advanced notice. The cabin our family rented was not cleaned in time for check in. In fact we were told it was ready but when we entered dirty linen was laying on the bed. We have been going to Jellystone for 30+ years with a group of 10 other families and were told this year for the first time that we're unable to book a year in advance for our preferred sites. Though we will try to book something again if it does not work we may not return. All in all the kids had a good time and we got nice tans but there is a lot that needs to be improved for a 5 even 4 star rating.
DO NOT GO!!! We stayed at Jelly stone about 4-5 weeks ago. We have been going for the last 6 years and usually have an absolute blast. We didn't get into our cabin until almost 6pm 2 hrs after check-in. The cabin was filthy. We were able to look past this and still have a good time. We understood places are short staffed and they can only do so much with the staff they have. Where things went south was about 4 weeks after. We had 2 families staying in the cabin. Each lives on opposite sides of Wisconsin and both are currently dealing with bed bugs. Our daughters woke up each night there and had little red mark on their backs and legs. We chalked them up to be misquote bites at the time. A few weeks later both families started seeing these bites again at our homes. Long story short they were bed bugs which came from the cabin we stayed. Then when we called to alert the folks at Jellystone the manager we spoke to could not have been more unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend staying and if you do check the beds......................
The activities were amazing! My kids had an absolute blast! The only reason that I'm giving 4 stars is because the cabin we rented was not cleaned. It was as if they replaced the towels and linens but that was it. There were cobwebs all over the walls and the floors were never swept. I can understand it not being perfect because it is a campground but we shouldn't have to sweep and get a full dustpan of dirt when we first get there. I would definitely come back again though!
Do not recommend. One family in our group rented a cabin and two other families camped in RVs. The cabin floor was full of sand when they checked so it was not thoroughly cleaned in between occupants. The sleeper sofa was literally falling apart and was disgusting. It was not usable as a sleeper sofa. Our campsite was on an incline and due to the way we had to park it, we were unable to hook up to the sewer we paid for a full hook up and we were unable to roll out our awning all the way due to being right next to a tree. It is pretty easy to put down gravel to even out RV sites. The bathrooms were not cleaned daily, despite a sign being posted that they are. Toilets were all clogged, no toilet paper, no paper towels, gross showers. I understand this is a campground so we weren't expecting five start hotel conditions, but we are talking about basic sanitary practices that were not kept up. The hose at the dump station was not functioning which is a definitely sanitary issue. Customer service, maintenance and cleanliness are definitely not priorities for this place.
My family does an annual summer trip here every year. Unfortunately, this year we couldn’t join my bigger family due to illness. I called and Shay who works there helped me cancel our reservation. She was amazing and easy to work with. Thank you Shay, for your wonderful customer service and care! The rest of my family had a great time.
Nice campground however fall is not worth what you pay to stay. Most of the kids activities are closed. The office and store close early on Sunday so you can't get firewood if needed. The bathrooms by the store/jumping pillow were NASTY. The cable doesn't have many kids channels. Not sure we will return.
We have stayed at Jellystone for years & always enjoyed the campground and the atmosphere it provided. That being said, our most recent experience this week was beyond disappointing. 1. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING. The toilets were clogged, garbages constantly overflowing, and the floors were filled with trash. And this was at all hours of the day. 2. The craft shop is so pathetic compared to previous years. They advertised for multiple things that weren't available and based on what the staff said it wasn't because they had simply ran out while we were there. These items were not available all year but still had signs posted saying they were an option for crafting 3. The pools, there was a layer of mildew in multiple pools which is a basic pool maintance concept that is absolutely unacceptable for a business to not keep up on. On top of that, multiple areas of the water park are literally falling apart and crumbling. 4. The gift shop offered only a very small fraction of the items it used to, because the craft shop was a let down my kids opted not to do a craft and instead do some extra shopping. Well that experience was just as bad with little items available 5. The arcade closed - one of my kids favorite things to do. Definitely a let down that they were not able to experience the arcade like they had previously I understand camping is not meant to be a luxurious experience and I certainly don't expect that. But considering the price we paid here compared to other campgrounds, there is no excuse for not keeping up on basic maintenance and cleanliness. Sadly, we will be looking for other options for our next "Big" camping trip for next year and closing the Jellystone chapter of our lives.
