Not holding back as Jennie works her Magic with acrylics on canvas of her favorite icons, she creates and paints the things she loves.
ennie Poulsen is a Pop Artist from Crown Point, Indiana. Her work has been well received at art shows such as Dawn Stamp-Lackey's Art Show and The Annual Hunt and Gather in Crown Point. Her artwork is currently displayed in JPL Fine Art Gallery in Crown Point. Jennie donates 10% of her profits to St. Jude House in Chicago, the Valparaiso Battered Women's Shelter, the Lowell Food Bank, the Classical Arts Center and other causes.
Jennie begain her artistic journey in the 1970's with caricatures, then began taking classes in chalk. While taking a few painting classes, she found that her medium of choice is acrylics. After viewing a picture of Marilyn Monroe at a friends house, she decided to try her own version of painting using light and shadows. Her paintings showcase vibrant colors that capture the subject while creating her own adaption of Pop Art. From her versions of Marilyn to Darth Vader, Jennie has created a style that is all her own. When she isn't painting in her art studio. Jennie enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She also enjoys organic gardening and preserving her own food.
