Jere Baxter Middle School is nestled into a hillside surrounded by trees at 350 Hart Lane in Nashville, Tennessee. Hart Lane connects Dickerson and Gallatin Roads. The school is named for Jere Baxter, builder of the Tennessee Central Railroad. Mr. Baxter stated his philosophy in this manner, “That I love my country, the marks I have left upon it shall be my best testimony.”
In keeping with his teachings, the faculty of Jere Baxter Middle School strives to guide all students academically, socially, and physically to reach national, state, and school standards and to become respectful, responsible citizens and lifelong learners. The faculty and staff work with students and stakeholders to offer a comprehensive understand of reading, writing, and mathematics, realizing that student learning should be the primary focus of all school decisions. Our faculty and staff realize that students learn best when they and their families are actively involved in the learning process. We invite parents to visit our school and classrooms on a regular basis.
Bright young minds.
