This is the go-to place for turntables. Knowledgeable and approachable. I bought my first turntable there and recently upgraded my turntable to match improvements I made in the remainder of the audio room over the last year. Ken was great to work with. He helped me incorporate a great upgraded turntable into my setup that met my performance specs, budget, even my less tangible but important to me aesthetic elements to tie into my setup and my music room. Ken at Needle Doctor was great to deal with. He listened to what equipment I had, and what I was looking for in an upgrade. Then not only did he make a couple of very good recommendations but he also created a bundled deal that was literally too good to refuse. After the sale I has some hesitations and he was very helpful. As he recommended once the cartridge had broken in for about 75 hours it became amazing. I am very happy with the equipment I bought and I will most definitely buy from him again.
I've always had excellent experiences here. I bought a great pair of speakers from here a few months back. For the past few months I've had issues with my record player that I purchased elsewhere through a different company. I brought in my record player and within a few minutes, the issue was pinpointed to the headshell. Chris also taught me a lot about different components of my record player and was extremely knowledgeable. I was treated with kindness, it was fun to stop by, and I am always interested in learning more about how it all works, that's half the fun of playing records. I am so, so happy, and thank you so much for your amazing help, Chris. I can now dance around to my records once again. It sounds so good! I will be back!
Just received my 3rd turntable purchased from Needle Doctor. Ken and the rest of the staff are courteous, helpful, and most of all, patient. They will take as much time as needed to answer your questions, and will guide you in making the best purchase to suit your needs. No pressure, or up sales. Highly recommended.
I would highly recommend Needle Doctor to anyone for there audio needs. I had a concern with a purchase and Ken reassured me I was in good hands and as it turned out my concern was a turntable isolation issue. The cartridge that Brian Markey recommended was exactly what I needed to reach my goal. Thanks for the great customer service!! John
I came up with using a turntable for family game night. Everyone takes turn picking out records , and games. Except I could not find a working unit. Over a few week period I brought 3 to Jim, , and I'd say he is definitely a needle doctor. He assured me the first two were not worth any money to put in, and the 3rd was the charm. He was able to determine exactly what it needed quickly and got it working nicely. I purchased a new cartridge, and it sounds great. They also had some really nice units for sale, and quite a bit of gear. This is a good business, with good people.
Ken helped me pick out a great set of in-ear headphones that were a good level up from my previous pair. I appreciated the no pressure approach as well. Just some insightful questions to how I will be using them, great knowledge of the products, good reference material and patience with my questions. Will definitely be back.
This is one of my favorite local stores to visit. If you can buy local...this is a great place to do it. Great customer service and very knowledgeable staff. I haven't made big purchases there yet but hope to soon. They expertly repaired my parent's old turntable from 1970.
