Jersey City Municipal Court

Selectively enforce street cleaning and the street sweeper never comes. Received a ticket on Friday, first in many months no complaint, but if you’re going to ticket, why not actually clean the streets. Seems like a cash grab, didn’t even enforce today. I work remotely and have been here for over 7 months, never have I seen a street being cleaned yet they ticket. Do better crooks

This place is suppose to represent justice and is the most unjust, disorganized, disgruntled staff filled place in existence. None of you know what you are doing. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for taking a position that you clearly do not care about, especially the judges. I just dealt with one of the most unprofessional judges I've ever seen. This guy was less professional than the judges you see on TV. Just yelled at me and did not allow me to ask any clarifying questions despite me being as well mannered as I could. These people let power go to their head and forget about upholding justice. You go to file complaints about these individuals and nothing happens. Rename your place to Jersey City Municipal "can't be bothered to do my job in a professional manner" Court. I've even had your own staff members share with me that you all actively try to screw the citizens. These are your own people! The people of Jersey City need to assemble and do something about a system so broken that it is an outright mockery of justice.

The reviews are true, this place and especially their zoom/virtual court sessions are worse than a joke. I'd give zero stars if I could. We recently received a several hundred dollar fine simply for putting our trash out too early for collection day. . For our summons date it said online it'll be a zoom meeting so we don't need to show up to the court. Great. That's when things break immediately. We were given no information regarding our login code for the zoom meeting, we've been on hold for over an hour trying to obtain this information but the offices/number given NEVER answers.

This place is TERRIBLE. Been waiting on hold for 2 hours even though the operator said 4 minutes, and now keeps saying “ 30 seconds”. I pleaded online for a parking ticket and all I have received in response, is a letter saying I failed to appear in court. Now my fee has increased by $10.00. It’s like this court purposely doesnt answer so that people have no choice but to pay a ticket. Something needs to be done. Extremely unprofessional for a court of law to handle matters in this way.

It's jersey city what can you really expect? Horrible infestructure, a police force with minimal education, and a municipal office that barely knows how to operate. I have to say they have gotten a bit better at the municipal level but they absolutely need more individuals to man the phones since they want to give tickets out.

Perhaps they need to hire more people or better.... I have been on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes and they kept repeating "Your wait time is 30 seconds" Yeah ok... That's a great way to lie to someone. Anyways it's been two days I have been trying to speak to a representative and no answer. I've been placed on hold and over an hour passes and no one picks up. Its irritating. If you're not going to pick up just say to call back another reasonable time. Or just say no one is available. Reality is there is NO REPRESENTATIVE available. If you've come this far in reading my comment just know 2 hours of my life were wasted waiting for someone to just help me. Did I get the help? No. Make sure you have time on your hands to sit and .. "wait for the next available representative".... - update- You're better off just going in person and resolve whatever issue you need to be resolved. I'm from Brooklyn so imagine how annoying it was having to go to Jersey City and just to fix one problem that didn't even take up 5 mins to fix. Good luck.

Absolutely absurd! Street cleaning comes, does not clean squat and then you get a $50 ticket. court waiting hours on the phone are hours long, no one answers the phone and the operator says "your phone will be answered in one minute". PLEASE BUTTON UP! Jersey city is a absolute mess, there is construction everywhere yet though these cleaners still manage to come by, where are we suppose to park???? that too in a school zone the cleaner comes right when the kids get out of school!!!!

I was sent a notice for court with no meeting ID to login to zoom, doesn't state a time or a court room. Called to request the information several times last week and today, called a total 40 give or take, times and if you’re lucky and it doesn't disconnect, you’re forced to wait 2 plus hours to speak to someone, IF big IF they answer before it disconnects itself again. And if you do get a human, they’re always incredibly rude and treat you like you’re stupid. Truly fed up with Jersey City’s court system. Something has to be done, it really isnt fair to any of the people that live here.

Gave “my car” a ticket but the registration info on the ticket is for a completely different car than the one registered under my name. The ticket was never placed on my vehicle. Been fighting this ticket for over a year since they never answer the phone, and the court dates are six months apart. They don’t want to help you in any way. They just want your money.

one of the rudest spaces i’ve ever experienced. if you need any sort of help or assistance, expect to be hung up on- no matter your level of politeness even in the most obvious parking situations where there is absolutely no sign, expect to be deemed guilty without any chance to speak or explain the situation
