JFarm is the Jewish environmental group at UMD and part of the UMD Garden Collective, along with the St. Mary's Garden and Community Learning Garden (by Eppley). Founded in 2009, we aim to inspire the Hillel student body to be more sustainable and environmentally conscious through educational, volunteering, and social events related to topics like conservation and mindfulness. We take care of the garden in front Hillel and donate its produce to local food pantries. We also run a compost collection program for students who live in apartments near or on campus.
