The Jim-Ree African American Museum, Inc (JAAM) is a not-for-profit organization housed in the Historic Elbert County Jail in Northeast, Georgia.

Mission

Jim-Ree African American Museum, Inc. is dedicated to the preservation, renewal and identification of African American history and culture in the Appalachian Foothills region. Our exhibitions and seminars cultivate awareness and appreciation of the contributions of African Americans locally and internationally. Additionally, our community programming and events promote inter-cultural understanding, social justice, and peace.
