Great food, reasonably priced, good portions! Our first visit here was during COVID, so I am not sure what their dining areas normally look like, but as of right now it appears that they offer takeout only. As far as BBQ sauce options, they don't have many, but the two we chose were good. We got two different meals and then split them between the two of us so we could try both the brisket and the ribs. Both meal came with two sides so we each picked the two we wanted most and then sampled what the other person chose. That was plenty for dinner and one of us got some lunch the next day with what little was leftover! The sides we got were all very good. Mac-N-Cheese, Green beans, Smokey Baked beans, and Coleslaw. Their restroom was small but clean. Staff was friendly. Only downside that I could say for this place is their parking lot is VERY SMALL and the lane to get back to it is no wider than a narrow driveway that is only big enough for 1 car at a time... and that is for both people coming and going... They have one spot in the front of the building to park in, which is really only big enough for a small car and when we were leaving with our food there was a huge SUV parked there making our exit very hard both getting out of the parking lot and visually being able to see oncoming traffic. This aside, we will be back for sure! I never really realized that this gem was so close to home and I love BBQ so it's good to know we have a spot we can order from and not have to drive too far to get it.
On Saturday we surprised my mom with a retirement party after the Walk to Defeat ALS downtown. We catered with Jimbo's, working with Jimbo and coordinating pick up times, etc was very easy. Everyone loved the food my uncle had 3 plates! We will definitely work with Jimbo's in the future!
We ordered carry out tonight because why not, and we decided to try this place out! Definitely an A+ in our book. Brisket, pulled pork and chicken were all so good! Plus the sides were all good! He even gave us all the different sauces they had to try in a baggie with our order. We will be going back for more. So nice to have a good BBQ place in the area. I was even more pleased that the gentleman that took my order was so nice.
Tried Jimbo's for the first time today. You can smell the yumminess from outside, mmm! Friendly service, and order was accurate. Order was ready quickly. My husband ordered brisket and sausage, he said it was pretty good. My son ordered the pulled pork combo with baked beans and mac n cheese and loved it, my other son got the kids pulled pork and mac n cheese and said it was so yummy! I got the rib tips with slaw and potato salad. When I get rib tips, I always find myself comparing them with King Rib... Jimbo's rib tips are meatier, but also fattier than King Rib... they do have good flavor though. The potato salad was really good and the cornbread was SO delicious. The sauces were pretty good too! I preferred the Kansas City sauce, Texas was a favorite of everyone else. They also have Memphis and Carolina sauce. Give them a try, they're food is good and I'd be interested in trying more of their menu items. We were stuffed... good portion sizes!
This is our favorite BBQ spot in all the Indianapolis area. Their ribs are the absolute best....and we always order lots of extra cornbread so delicious! I also enjoy their pulled pork sandwich for lunch. Side portions are good sized and pricing is on point for the hearty food they offer. Highly recommend if you are a BBQ fan!
The brisket was quite mediocre. The barbecued beans however, we're pretty good. It was carry out only, and I shouldn't have left a six dollar tip. They wouldn't even give me a glass of water to go with my two meals. I later found out I was overcharged by more than $10.
Based on customer service and the food, I was quite pleased. The lady who took my order was very helpful and easy to talk to and provided great service. I ordered the rib tips and boy were they good! I'd love to see them at Hendricks County Rib Fest this year because I believe they could take home the win. The sauces are great too.
This was EXCELLENT barbeque, really enjoyed the Carolina style sauce. Sides all tasted like they were house made, and everything our group got was correct. Called the order in and picked it up in ten minutes. Only two things to note, if you like your bbq saucy, make sure to get extra cups of sauce as one is not nearly enough. I used three. My only disappointment was seeing Gold Peak tea and not real brewed sweet tea. We'll definitely be going back here.
The people working there were really friendly. The pulled pork sandwich and baked beans were great too. They have a big smoker behind the building where you park so it smells amazing as soon as you pull in. They had old footage from the Indy 500 back in the 1930s playing on a TV in there when I stopped in and who I assume to be the owner was talking to me for awhile about it. I thought it was pretty interesting.
good food nice staff tiny place very clean Parking lot only holds 4 vehicles. Not the best BBQ I have had in the Indianapolis area but I will come back. I had a beef brisket sandwich special and it was good with plenty of options in BBQ sauces but the cost seemed a bit too high for the amount of food I got.
