I retained Jo Katz at one of the lowest & most chaotic points in my life. I was an emotional mess. From the day of our first consultation in her law offices to the resolution of the case Jo has been truly wonderful. When I was emotional, she was calm & steady. When I became frustrated & impatient Jo was professional & always responded to me with a call, text or email within 24 hours. She not only possesses a thorough knowledge of family law, but has the capability of providing an explanation of legalese that was easy for me to grasp. Most importantly Jo’s kindness, patience & understanding literally allowed me to take a breath & relax when I was especially worried about some detail of my case. In 2020 I gathered all of the strength I had to leave a terrible marriage. I decided to go a step further, and file for divorce. I contacted an attorney who spoke to me as if I wouldn’t be able to pay him, and basically gave directions on how I could do it myself. This interaction left me feeling defeated, especially since I was already in a confused state of mind. I then went back to Google to take another chance regarding finding an attorney. Jo Katz popped up, and I remember thinking, wow what a cool name. I took a chance and contacted her. From the first phone call, I felt seen and heard. We set a date for an in person meeting, and this is when for the first time since leaving, I felt empowered. During the divorce proceeding she was extremely professional and fought for me to receive what I deserve. For that I am truly grateful. No post or 5 star rating can ever express how grateful I am.
