Joe Roberts Store was opened in 1954 by Joe and Merle Roberts. At first, they sold tires and home goods. When Joe got sick, Merle transitioned more to a home store including house decor and bridal registry. The store was a way of life for Joe and Merle. It still is for Merle. Her declining health no longer allows her to go to the store, but it is still on her mind everyday. They raised their children Marilyn, Mark and Arthur in the store. Her son Mark and his wife Rita are striving as much as possible to open the store and keep the business going. The store will be open on select dates by Mark and Rita, Merle's grandchildren, family, and friends. To our family, the store is more than just a business it was home. Lots of laughs, more good memories than we can count, and a few tears. Please come out and shop on open dates so we can continue this family legacy.
