Safe place to park your car before heading on the train. The station is clean and easy to navigate. Recommend picking up the train here over Detroit. Also parking is free.
There is no telling who is in charge of the Dearborn Transit Center. Today, following missing the train due to a SMART bus not showing up, I came to the station at 10:05AM to be greeted by an Amtrak employee and custodian saying that the building was closed for cleaning. I was told it would be 10 minutes. 15 minutes later the custodian stuck a sign on the locked door saying "Closed For Cleaning". 30 minutes later and the building was still not open. Even a SMART driver couldn't get in to use the restroom! Nice building, but being closed midday seems like there's no oversight. Beware of mass transit in Detroit and surrounding areas.
This is a very nice Amtrak Train Station. It's spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. It also has two levels, where you can view Greenfield Village on the second level. This is the best Amtrak Train Station in Michigan. They provide search word puzzles while you wait for your train, vending machines, and restrooms are spotless.
The outside is very clean and easy access design. The older man opened the doors promptly at 6am and was extremely friendly and helpful in making sure everyone was set for their Amtrak ride. It was spacious enough, clean, and easy.
The Jaguar transit station Noni is quiet in the morning but as the day go on it get busy the Dearborn transit station and Amtrak open says 6 a.m. in the morning is clean inside is warm but you still have to wear your mask
Clean, well lit station. The gentleman who worked there was friendly, professional, and efficient. He was a great start to a long trip. My only concern is that the station only opens about a half hour before departure. Not a big deal when I departed, but not ideal on a cold Michigan morning. Even a 15 min earlier start time would make a huge difference
The station itself is very nice, clean, and new. Seating inside the waiting room which opens about 30 minutes prior to departure was comfortable and abundant. There are two platforms, and an enclosed bridge with elevators and stairs connects the two platforms. This would be really nice when traveling during bad weather. The platforms are well-lit, which is nice when your train departs or arrives early in the morning or late at night. I've been to several Amtrak stations, and this is definitely one of the nicer ones. Plus, the train was actually on time this morning not something that the station can control, but still nice given that I've taken plenty of trips where that wasn't the case. Trains have actually been better in regards to on-time performance during the pandemic, likely due to the reduced service meaning that delays at passing segments are pretty much avoided although on the Michigan Services. Still, please remember to bring your patience when you travel, as most of the factors that cause delays are beyond Amtrak's control such as weather, freight interference, or issues at grade crossings.
Beautiful new station. Easily the nicest Amtrak station I've been to. Staff was helpful. Nice little lending library inside the station to grab a book while traveling. Lots of parking in a safe community.
Took my son who loves trains. Very memorable moment for him. The train station itself was spacious and clean.
I haven't traveled by train in a few years. This new station looks like a big improvement over the old Dearborn station. However, by the pics of the waiting area and considering this is a new station, I'm not seeing any USB charging stations at the seats. That's a huge oversight miss.
