As a parent who frequently takes my kids to John J. Burns Park, I can confidently say that this is one of the best parks in the area. The park is always clean and well-maintained, and there are so many activities available for kids of all ages. Whether you're looking to join an organized sports program or just play a pickup game with friends, this park has it all. The abundance of courts available for basketball and handball is also a huge plus, and the fact that the lights are kept on until 11 PM in the summer months means we can keep playing even after the sun goes down. We've also enjoyed attending the free concerts hosted at the park during the summer, which are always a hit. Overall, John J. Burns Park is a fantastic community resource and a great place for families to spend time outdoors. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and active day out with their kids.
The music was great , there was an adequate amount of restrooms and plenty of public safety people there . The food trucks had good offerings . The shuttle service provided was excellent, it was needed for overflow parking .
Clean, easy to find with a huge sports area--bike track, dek hockey, basketball, baseball, handball, a children's playground, bocce ball tournaments...and the summer nights are full of free entertainment! Throughout the summer this welcoming town park brings in some amazing bands, tribute bands and productions on weekends going back a decade+ they've had ELO, Blue Oyster Cult, The Zombies, Gin Blossoms, Grand Funk Railroad, Bret Michaels, etc. I recently saw The New York Bee Gees there, and they played songs from every decade of their music. The band includes various present or former members from world renowned bands such as Meatloaf, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, etc. so it's always enjoyable. This time they had Mike Flyntz from RIOT Music Hall of Fame on guitar. Day or night, this park is a perfect choice to get away from it all, relaxing and just what you'd picture for a family outing. Thank you, Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino!
A great gem in Massapequa. Big fields and an awesome playground for the toddlers and up. Good parking area as well. Playground: Big playground and clean Restrooms: Clean rest rooms
TOB Summer Concerts at this park are fantastic. The park is beautiful and there were no bugs to be seen. Restrooms: Restrooms were clean and well maintained. They also had additional portable bathrooms due to the large crown for the show.
What a great park and plenty to do. The live music shows are really nice.
Great place fore little league games .A small size professional baseball park. Restrooms: Clean
Nice summer concert venue. Just make sure you use the bathroom before you leave because OMG it was an hour wait. Playground: Didn't get to use that Restrooms: Probably okay during the day but with the concerts not convenient Picnic area: Didn't see that either
Huge park hard to find parking lights on all fields which is useful since you can play night games.
Great park for kids baseball. Super family friendly. They have a concession stand with hotdogs chicken fingers fries and pretzels for the longer games. They just installed these great new bleechers which are much safer for the little kids who we were always afraid would fall off the back. We come here multiple times a week.
