We opened our shop in Central Valley in 1972 and have been servicing Monroe-Woodbury residents’ cars ever since. Because of word of our excellence and loyalty from our customers we have clients who travel from as far away as Pennsylvania, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties as well as New York City.

In an age when honesty and fairness are highly valued we pride ourselves in providing the best information, advice and technical expertise customers need to properly maintain and/or repair their vehicles.

John and Eddie always work on our Subaru. We keep going back because they are fair and honest and trusting your mechanic is like trusting your doctor. Eddie took the time to locate a hard to find part for me cosmetic and found it right away after I tried for days. Much appreciated, all you guys do. I would recommend Kelemen, and do, to my friends and family.
Usually going to a mechanic/used car salesman is a horrifying experience. But not at John Kelemens shop. He does high quality work at very fair price. I recently bought 2 cars through him no pressure and walked out feeling that I got a great deal. My wife an I are on a very tight budget but for the first time in years I feel that my wife is driving a safe car and I'm not worried when she has to go somewhere. His quality work ethic is one of the greatest I've ever seen. He thoroughly diagnoses a car before servicing it so he know that the work he performs will fix the problem unlike other mechanics who just start guessing and putting parts on you car that had nothing to do with the problem and leaving you with a large bill. John is the only place I would have my vehicles serviced. John is an honest person who has become a good friend.
Kelemen's is the ONLY place I would ever take my car for service. I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years because I have never found a car repair business that even begins to equal the knowledge, professionalism, courtesy, and customer service that Kelemen's provides. I could tell at least 10 long stories relating times both Diane and John have gone out of their way to accommodate me with a loaner or an early or late appointment. And, unlike the Honda and Toyota dealerships where your car disappears to be worked on by some unseen person with whom you never get to speak, at Kelemen's you can watch your car being serviced, and John will be there to answer any questions...even the dumb ones! Although I hesitate to go all "female" here, I must add that it is a definite plus to be able to relax in comfortable, high-backed, upholstered chairs and be warmed by a wood burning stove as you wait for you car.
The search is over!! First I was greeted with a warm smile by the receptionist, Michelle.Then instead of being charged for something that might fix the problem, John, the owner, wanted to wait to get a more accurate diagnosis. I'm sure we have all experienced being charged for something to "fix"the problem only to have it reoccur and then pay for something else. Sound familiar? I've taken two of my cars there and John even gave me a loaner car to get around while my car was being serviced.Never had that before & I've been to quite a few places! Ed, one of the technicians there, was happy to answer my questions.We all look for a car technician that is honest, but some technicians honestly play too much guess work with our cars and money.Here you get honest,competent & quality work he stands by.
Who can ask for more, imagine an honest and skillful car mechanic? John Kelemen always gives trustworthy advice and stands behind his work. I have saved hundreds of dollars by using his services instead of going to the dealerships, who always seem to find unduly and expensive repairs. Relationships and real service !! Many years ago, okay maybe 7, my friend Amy was visiting in her Saab. Something went wrong with her car. We went to John and explained that she was passing through and needed to get home. Alas, the "new" part was not quickly available. John lent Amy the part. I know because when she had it replaced, I returned the borrowed part. I have been a fan since then.
Kelemen's Foreign Car Repair is a great place to get your car taken care of, from major repairs to basic inspections. Their work is excellent and timely, and they are friendly and professional. I highly recommend working with Kelemen's Foreign Car Repair.
Dont let all the 5 star reviews fool you. This place has earned them. I know, sometimes it seems like friends and family must do them because they cant ALL be good but seriously, this place was fantastic, super reasonable prices, friendly, fast, and one of the nicest waiting area's I have seen. Fixed my 98 subaru in less than two hours and it had nothing to do with what Google said was the problem. Seriously, a fantastic experience.
John is the best. Always reliable, always fair. He keeps my cars running beautifully. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
