I spent over 2 grand on due diligence based on the listing “House has had all services updated and is in very good condition with no deferred maintenance”. Turned out it was a rat trap of non-permitted horrors. Every system was NOT updated and there was NOTHING but deferred maintenance. To add further insult, the seller is refusing to sign off on returning my earnest money. I realize that the broker can not control the negligence of the seller, but they can and should be compelled to provide fair and accurate marketing about the property.

Alex McCarthy at John L. Scott is a fantastic realtor, and I can not say enough good things about him. We started our home selling/buying process on a whim, at a un-steady time in the market. Alex walked us through every single step sometimes multiple times with insight and expertise. Throughout both, the selling and buying process we always felt assured we were being given the best care/ attention/ help we could ask for, our expectations were exceeded at every opportunity. Alex is a fantastic communicator and always made sure that we knew what was going on, when it was happening, and how it effected us. Home selling and buying can be an incredibly stressful process, but Alex walks you through the journey with positivity and confidence - while helping you sell your current home, or buy your dream home. We will definitely be using Alex for all future realty needs. Alex McCarthy and the John L. Scott office in Salem are truly fantastic. Most of our “work” was done remotely, but on the few occasions we were lucky enough to stop into the office, we were welcomed with open arms by everyone. We also had the incredible opportunity to work with Jessica McNeely for a second time. Jessica and her team are incredible. They worked hard to ensure the process was easy and seamless for us. Jessica was always quick to respond to any, and all questions we had and worked hard to make sure we had the best available options. We can’t say enough amazing things about Alex McCarthy, John L. Scott, and Jessica McNeely.

My Wife and I chose John L Scott because they are well established and known. Unfortunately we connected with the wrong team. When it comes to a realtor you should be able to trust them and anyone they bring on to help aid in the sale or purchasing of your home. So if I could share one piece of advice is stay away from Ken and Carolyn The Ream Team!!! Don't get reamed like we did!!! They really just don't have your best interest at heart. Find yourselves an upfront and honest one.

We have used John L. Scott Salem Real Estate - Salem, Oregon South  for approximately 7 years. When making a decision to choose a realtor, I wanted to work with someone that I could trust. In a market that is fast and furious, with an abundance of choices, this can be hard to find. Pam McCarthy was by far the best choice I could’ve made.  Pam has been there every step of the way. She answered every call or email no matter what time of day or night it was. Her professionalism, mentorship, knowledge, honesty, and hard work was much respected and appreciated. I never felt that she was just trying to sell me a house, but that she was a mentor to answer my questions and help me to make the best decision for my family. She is genuine, caring, supportive and constantly focused on the goal of what we wanted in a home and found it quickly!  You can’t go wrong choosing her as your closest ally in choosing a home for you and your family!

Hector Garcia listed two houses for us in the past year and I highly recommend him. He was diligent about pricing the properties right, balancing the need for timely sales with optimizing our financial outcome. Hector followed through on all requests from us as well as from potential buyers, was knowledgeable about sales contracts, professional, and easy to work with. As an added bonus, he speaks Spanish as well as English! We were very happy with Hector's work as a listing agent.

Tracy McNulty was awesome to work with. We ultimately didn't purchase a home because we ended up having my job move us out of the state, but Tracy worked diligently on our behalf over about 7 months. Tracy was someone I felt I could really trust to have my best interest and put me first which is definitely not a given in the industry. Highly recommend.

Dax Chen worked really hard to find me and my family a perfect home within our budget and helped us through every step of the closing negotiations and final closing. If in was going to buy another house, if work with him again in a minute.
