Dr. Wise has been practicing since 1993. He earned his doctor of dental surgery degree (DDS) from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1989. Dr. Wise obtained a Master's Degree from the University of Iowa in 1993, the same year he completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
Dr. Wise distinguished himself graduating Magna Cum Laude from dental school while being elected to the GORGAS Odontological Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. During his surgical residency he was awarded the Merle Hale Research award and the AAOMS Annual Meeting Poster Award for research he conducted on TMJ Arthrocentesis that was later published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He earned his Diplomate status of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery when he was board certified in 1998.
Continuing education is a priority for Dr. Wise as he regularly attends courses throughout the country focusing mainly on updating his knowledge of anesthesia and implant and bone grafting procedures. He is an active member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Association of the local chapter of the Frederick County Dental Society.
