While , my experience in the OR, the doctors who attended me and the nurses were great. Registration was unscrupulous and preyed upon my vulnerability. I was charged $4200 for the same day surgery. I was told if I paid that day that I could save $800. Needless to say I paid over $3000 on a credit card to later find out that I didn’t owe amount it was the insurance portion and now it would take 60 days to credit my account, I have canceled a future procedure for that hospital
If I could give this place zero then that's what I'll choose... If you have SICKLE CELL and BLACK PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE.. Please go to VCU ... Especially if you have Dr. Patel, he didn't care and doesnt care about your need and only thinks what he know best...I gave him my doctor information well over 5 hours ago and if anybody knows what a crisis is knows we can't be to long in pain or it can be life or death... Right now I'm feeling like I'm halfway there... No one is showing concern for me except one to two nurses.. he doesn't answer your calls or returns message...at this point I thought dr. Yellinedi was there for me since she is a hematologist and she didn't show a concern in the world either...if someone can see this I need a manager who cares about their patients to get in touch with me... I will NEVER come here again... I've been sitting here mines to a new room since 1 and it's going on 6
In July, my father came here sick with extremely high blood pressure, blood sugar and a high fever. He had been there for hours when I got there and they GAVE HIM NOTHING. No blood pressure medicine, no insulin, not even a Tylenol until I fussed and asked why they hadn’t given him anything but fluids. He could have died in this ER. The nurse that was “treating” him never came back after I spoke with her. My family and I decided to move him to another hospital and we were given a hard time about it. If something critical is going on with your loved one, do not bring them here! My Dad truly almost died from their neglect. I called to speak with someone about our experience and no one has bothered to call back. Shameful. Update: No one has called or responded to this and it is September.
I was pleasantly surprised with undergoing my outpatient procedure here. Everyone was kind and attentive. They explained everything thoroughly. Most of all I did not have to wait long. Signed in, did the paperwork, prepped and ready right at the appointment time. Thank you to all doctors and nurses that attended to me.
The experience that I’ve been through and currently going through with TriCities Mental Health Intensive outpatient program has been a complete nightmare for me. I’ve suffered in silence for so long from fear of judgement; that my voice would go unheard and that no one would believe me. I finally let my guard down and was referred to the hospital program at TriCities. I was in a 8 week program for 3 weeks and was discharged under the assumption that I was going to be transitioning into their PHP program which had been discussed. I was told by Amber, one of the therapists/counselors there that the following day after discharge I would have an appointment scheduled with my provider and that they would need to set up the referral for me to be able to participate in the program. I get to my appointment the next day and was informed by one of the providers that I was discharged for being non compliant. I was lied to. In my discharge paper which I personally never received still until this day it stated that I had missed multiple days and that I was treating the sessions as if it were a vacation. I was completely shocked and blindsided to the point I thought they may have gotten me mixed up with someone else because I never missed those numerous days I was accused of missing. I reached out to the patient advocate to get a better understanding on what was going on and after a couple weeks it was determined that I in fact never missed those days. I’m not exactly sure what I was doing to make them believe that I was treating these sessions as a vacation. Maybe I should’ve smiled more? Or cried? Or shared my whole life story? I’ve hit rock bottom and hope that no one else has to ever go through what I’m going though. The exact thing I was afraid of is happening to me and now I don’t know if will ever be able to trust again.
From Check-in to check out was really nice. Everyone that I came in contact was very friendly, kind, respectful, and had “we care about you attitude “. I really want to thank Elyse and Sierra are AWESOME radiology technicians. They are amazing caring young ladies. Elyse did my Doppler painful swollen right leg with gentleness and care. Thank you Elyse and Sierra for making my visit a wonderful experience, and thank you TriCities for having kind, caring, respectful, knowledgeable people as Elyse, Sierra, and Todd.
The emergency room nurses who came to my aide on 5/12/2023 in the wee hours of the morning were great! The nurses who prepped me for surgery were fantastic. But the two Post-Op nurses...Jackie & Emily were the kindest, caring & very comical nurses to be found! Third floor nurses assigned to 3112 Michelle & Jackie were superb in meeting my every need! Outstanding bedside manner. The kitchen personnel who delivered my meals were very engaging in conversation. Very pleasant and willing to assist me with everything!!! M. Rideout patient 05/12/2023.
I went for a tilt table test. The doctor who has to be there for the test was over 2 hours late. The only reason I'm putting 4 stars and not 1 is because of the nurse/tech who did the test. I believe he said his name was Don. He was absolutely lovely. The tilt table test makes people pass out, so obviously I did. Don was very kind and his #1 priority was to make sure I was comfortable and feeling okay. I had to sit and wait for a while after the test and wait until I felt better so I could drive myself home. He brought me water bottles and a blanket. He made the entire horrible test experience not nearly as bad. Overall, glad I stayed and still did the test instead of leaving when the doctor was super late.
Why is John Randolph still up and running? Oh! I know they take people's money and charge to the insurance to do absolutely nothing for a person! I hate this place!! What's the point of telling them your symptoms and your pain level but they keep you sitting in there for like 4 hours and don't even check on you got me so mad that I got up and started asking the patients how long they been there couple of them said they was in there since this morning I talked to the Head nurse Judy and she also didn't take the complaint serious. They will take our money and remodel on us and get paid for services they are not providing. These people are in this profession for the paycheck honestly I really don't see the passion they have none like I said the head nurse didn't even do anything she basically was uh-huh and walked off and didn't see her come back or nothing they really need to do better here this is one big ghetto clinic! All I'm going to say is if you're looking to die that's the place to be they don't care about their patients it's pretty obvious when you see them talking and flirting and playing with each other like I did tonight should have recorded them I'm over there rocking in pain and not one time that they offer any Motrin or Tylenol that place should be shut down a long time ago put a real operating hospital in its place people that have compassion for other people! John Randolph is a fraud! I said what I said! They really should be ashamed of themselves!
I received quality care at TriCities Hospital from the greeting upon entrance, to the registration, entire medical staff and to my discharge. The process was explained each step of the way up to my surgery and after. I had the best RN, Ashley who was attentive, professional, efficient and friendly. Overall, pleasant experience!
