A native of Durham, N.C.,
John Thompson became the
head men’s basketball coach
at North Carolina Wesleyan in
1995 and has led the Battling
Bishops to tremendous success
over the past 19 years. His teams
have won numerous accolades,
including five conference
championships. For his efforts,
Thompson has earned USA
South Coach of the Year honors on three occasions.
He
is first on Wesleyan’s all-time wins list and has mentored
many of the Bishops’ all-time greats.
In the summer of 2012, Thompson was honored to be
selected as a court coach for USA Basketball’s Junior
National Team. Thompson joined an elite group of
collegiate coaches at the U18 training camp, including
Florida’s Billy Donovan, Gonzaga’s Mark Few and
VCU’s Shaka Smart, among others.
A native of the Bronx, N.Y.,
David Doino has been with the
North Carolina Wesleyan men’s
basketball program for seven
years. He joined the Battling
Bishops after serving three
years as assistant coach at his
alma mater, Virginia Wesleyan
College, where he helped lead
the Marlins to the 2006 NCAA
D-III National Championship.
Prior to assuming his coaching duties, Doino was a
standout basketball player for VWC, where he was a
three-time All-Conference performer.

Facilities
Everett Gymnasium
-
Camp is held at North
Carolina Wesleyan’s Everett Gymnasium in Rocky
Mount, N.C.... where the Battling Bishops play!
The facility is completely air condidtioned.
Taylor Center
-
The Taylor Center will also be
used for the Development Camp. The Taylor Center
consists of a basketball court and weight room, and
classrooms for video instruction.
* An $80 non-refundable deposit is
required to ensure a spot for all camps!
Day Camp
June 16-20
Full Day $160 per camper

Full Day $160 per camper
Camp will begin each day at 9:00 and end
at 3:30 (Noon for Half Day). Each day
campers must bring their own lunch or
they can pay for Chick-Fil-A during the
week. There
will be a concession stand
with soft drinks and snacks.

The primary focus of our camp is to help players strengthen their all-around games, a process that begins with honing the athletes' offensive talents.
