Our clients include a wide range of closely held businesses and nonprofits as well as individuals. We enjoy helping our clients start new businesses, grow existing businesses, and plan for major life events. We pride ourselves in forming long term relationships with our clients and only accept new clients from referrals.
The company is named for its founding partners Sandi Johnson Shaw, Michele Mire, and Dione Fernandez. Michele and Dione had been working for Sandi since 1985 and 1992, respectively, and in 2000 they were brought on as partners.
Sandi Johnson Shaw graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1977 with a B.S. in Accounting. She was an avid bowler, loved her cats, and the Saints. She also has an extensive collection of Looney Tunes animation cells. On January 2, 2003 Sandi lost her yearlong battle with cancer. She bequeathed all of her animation cells to Children’s Hospital.
Michele Mire graduated from the University of New Orleans in May of 1995 with a B.S. in Accounting and passed the CPA exam in November. She enjoys gardening and sewing. Michele has a son and a daughter who also work for the company and a puppy named Lily.
Dione Fernandez graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1982 with a B.S. in Accounting. She has a son and two dogs named Lucy and Valentino.
Sam Gatzman (Office Manager) started working for JMF, CPA’s in 2012. She graduated from UNO in 2011. She has three dogs named Bear, Ziggy, and Cooper.
