The Johnston Football League is member of American Youth Football's Blackstone Valley Football Conference.
The Johnston Football League Mission Statement
Since being established in 1970 the goal of Johnston Youth Football & Cheerleading is to provide a service to young athletes. This service will be geared to promote healthy activity and training under competent adult leadership, in an atmosphere of wholesome community participation. It will focus on football and cheerleading skills plus physical and sociological well-being. It will also include Teamwork, Sportsmanship, Discipline and Character.
The league would like to thank all the coaches. The league would not be what it is today without them including the time and hard work they put in for us. We would also like to thank the Mayor Joseph Polisena and his office, The Johnston Hose 3 Fireman’s Hall, The Johnston Recreation Dept, the Johnston Police, The Johnston School Committee,The Blackstone Valley Football Conference and all the family, fans and friends who make it possible to succeed. These people and organizations volunteer their time because they want to, not because they have to and they deserve our appreciation.
Johnston Youth Football & Cheerleading is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and all the money brought into the league is spent for the boys and girls that participate in the league. The amount of money needed to run the league is substantial and any ideas pertaining to fundraising, sponsorship or donations are always welcome. Thanks to those who sponsored us and everyone that donated prizes for our banquet raffle and/or concessions.
Football and Cheerleading are both very demanding disciplines and require practice, dedication and the utmost in commitment. They are two sports that are both physically and mentally demanding and also include an inherent risk of injury. Every athlete’s parent or guardian will be asked to sign a form for insurance/medical purposes.
The Board Members would like to wish everyone another great year in 2014 and will do our best to fulfill our mission statement.
