Service here was terrific, definitely attentive and five stars. Atmosphere is dark, warm, and wonderful, although a little bit noisy when busy because the sound bounces off the walls. Food is solid but some of the dinner dishes are a little too small for a big appetite. You definitely want to include an appetizer or two.
Had a wonderful first experience here at Joliet. Such a warm atmosphere, delicious food and great service. Shared the baked crab dip appetizer, the lobster roll with chips and the Caesar salad. Plenty of food for 2, and everything is made in-house and was amazing! Only thing missing was the ability to have an after-dinner coffee. Please make that possible! Otherwise, this is THE perfect, hidden gem of a place!
Super cozy atmosphere, friendly and a tasty matcha. Unfortunately only one gluten-free option as per the staff member and the food and breakfast options closed at 1pm. The gluten-free banana bread is amazing!Food: 5/5
This place is a hidden gem in Playa Vista: great cocktail list, nice ambiance and beautiful decor. Staff is always friendly too! Totally recommend stopping by.Food: 2/5
Joliet is a very dope spot. Met up with a friend from college here and the whole place is definitely a vibe. The drinks were really good. Not strong in taste but you could tell there was a good amount of liquor in it, which I’m not mad at. The lobster roll was pretty tasty. A decent amount of lobster for the price. Definitely will suggest getting another dish as it’s not super filling. Would definitely go back/recommend for the vibe
Edit Oct 17, 2021: had to add a comment about their breakfast foods see avocado toast photo - delicious, so much attention to detail. Great cocktails, that I have had so far. Fun little speakeasy style lounge, a surprise to find. A lot of the drinks that I have tried here are a bit on the sweeter side, but are delicious. Edit: 2022: favorite great bartenders are gone, less character now; cold reheated breakfast sandwiches do not cut it.
The seating area is a bit hidden and I kind of love that. The vibe is a little more palm spring speakeasy. If you’re visiting on a weekday, there will be ample seating and the staff will be available to give you their full attention. It feels like a place that you can hang with you’re friends and feel very comfortable.Service: 4/5
What an amazing find. Was in the area seeing a friend and stumbled upon this amazing speakeasy with amazing food. Cocktails are solid, great selection of hard to find top shelf spirits, food is light and delicious. Cacio Pepe was on point, cheese board amaze. Staff was super cool and approachable.
Cozy bar/restaurant hidden in the back of the Joliet coffee counter. Came here for drinks on a Tuesday evening and made a reservation in advance beforehand. Limited street parking and paid garage parking available. Credit cards accepted. They do make mocktails and they made me a refreshing cucumber based one. We got an order of Mac and cheese as well, which was very filling. The place is intimate and the close seating made it a bit hard to hear each other as conversations overlapped, but I really appreciated the tropical-esque decor. Overall, a good spot for a date night or for a small group of friends.
What a Gem! Food was on point and the atmosphere was well crafted from the music, interior design, concept, beverages, staff and execution! Great job! I’ll be back!
