Great popcorn runs in our family! We are part of the fifth generation of JOLLY TIME® Pop Corn. JOLLY TIME was founded in 1914 by our great-great grandfather Cloid H. Smith. While growing up we knew JOLLY TIME through our Papa, Wrede Smith. He was the president for 35 years and made JOLLY TIME into a household name. (More of JOLLY TIME’s history can be found at www.jollytime.com.) As sisters, we have many fond memories based around popcorn. Whether it was popping a bag in the microwave, visiting our Papa at the plant, or making specialty popcorn for holiday gifts with our mother, JOLLY TIME was the basis of it all. In the summer of 2011, we decided to continue the popcorn tradition and founded JOLLY TIME Koated Kernels®.
What makes Koated Kernels different?
• Kernels – We use only JOLLY TIME’s finest butterfly kernels. These light and fluffy kernels give our popcorn its superior texture and flavor.
• Homemade – All of our products start on the stovetop, from melting cheese or chocolate, to boiling the ingredients for our secret recipes. Most importantly, every Koated Kernels recipe is made in small batches so the finished product is fresh and delicious.
• Baked – Specialty popcorn can be made in many different ways. To give our popcorn its distinct texture, a number of our flavors are baked in the oven. This process takes about an hour to give our popcorn its signature crunch. Yes, it takes time, but you can truly taste the difference.
• Personalization – If you have an idea, share it with us and we’ll make it happen! We personalize our Koated Kernels products for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, graduations, and more!
