I’m visiting this park with my kids as a halfway point for meeting family between states. Pretty pleased with it! It covers a lot of ground and offers several levels and different activities, from graduated levels of monkey bars to balancing areas to swings baby, traditional, and tire as well as an area just for toddlers. There’s ample seating for parents as well as a couple of small picnic tables. I actually just noticed the sign stating that it’s associated with the adjacent elementary school, and that’s kind of nice. Yes, it could use a little cleanup and a fresh coat of paint here and there, but it reminds me of my own school playground growing up and has a nostalgic charm to it. And, possibly most importantly, the neighborhood feels safe. There are sweet little old ladies out walking dogs, and it feels secure with the school nearby, even after hours. We’ll probably come back when we’re in the area again.
Massive playground with lots of shade. Wood is a little old and warped. Saw others complaining about splinters, but we managed to remain unscathed. Lots of for my 3.5 year daughter to chase because no other kids were here today
Great little place to stop and get some movement in while driving through Asheville!
I have been going to this park with my kids since 2005 or so. Through three different boys I have watched this park age with weather. Overall, it is still pretty good, but there is definitely some wear and tear and it would be great to see it get revamped.
Was surprised that several parts of the playground was broken/boarded up. I also wish they could come up with an area specifically for parking. It's quite a hike with young kids, carrying bags diapers, snacks, water etc, after playing in the heat for a while.
Very nice, quiet park.. Only marked down due to the falling apart, contraption that was a bridge until the support started falling out of the bottom... Would be awesome if they'd fix the support under the bridge as the kids enjoyed the bridge!!
Obviously made by the same construction crew as Carrier Park as all the slides and obstacles are the same BUT they have more of them. For toddlers and small children, this place us great.
Nice but the wood is old and splinters like crazy. I had to get multiple splinters out of my kids the one time I took them. Not going back.
My kids love this park. It is a nice neighborhood and usually has a few others playing but today there was only mine and I think they played so well together instead of each trying to find a new friend
This park is falling apart and dangerous for kids to play. I helped build it years ago and it use to be so nice. Parks and recreation need to spend some attention to fixing it up.
