The Somers Point Public Schools are a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Somers Point, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2014-15 school year, the district and its three schools had an enrollment of 1,472 students and 106.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.8:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Students in public school for ninth through twelfth grades attend Mainland Regional High School, which also serves students from Linwood and Northfield. The high school is located in Linwood. For the 1997-98 school year, Mainland Regional High School was recognized by the United States Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School.
