Zach helped us at Joseph a Banks. He was so informative and helpful! He definitely steered us in the right direction without pushing. So glad we stopped in.
My fiance and I came in today to set up a style for our upcoming wedding. Zack helped us was not helpful at all...I asked him if he could lay everything out on the table so that we could see how everything looked together example: putting the suit on the table with the shirt under it and bow tie. He made it very clear that we were a bother to him!!..After asking several questions and not getting clear answers, we became very fustrated. He was not knowledgeable at all. We ended up walking out. I wish we would have gotten the red head fella, he was doing a great job with the customers that he had.
I came in to get fitted for a suit and was hoping to make a purchase but was extremely disappointed. The employee acted like he had no idea what he was doing and just started handing me jackets to try on. None of the jackets fit my shoulders and he acted like he had no idea how to resolve the solution and acted like there was something wrong with me since I didn't fit in any of the jackets. On top of all this he sent me to a dressing room just to try on a jacket which I found really sketchy and then found out he was trying to mack on my girlfriend while I was in the dressing room. I doubt this represents the whe establishment but I ended up leaving without making a purchase and with a really bad taste in my mouth about the experience
So I went in with my husband in February to return a suit that I told him looked tight and he confirmed it was, but he was going to settle because he felt bad since they tailored it for him. Well he returned it and the gentleman that was there for the return was snarky and clearly upset we were returning it! He was in his late 20s or early 30s with reddish/brown hair Anyways with much pushback and disgust he did the return. We asked where the custom suits selection was and pointed to them. After several minutes my husband wanted to do a custom suit. Good luck getting someone to help So he asked the “manager” that did our return if he could help. And his direct response to my husband was “WHY SO YOU CAN RETURN THAT SUIT TOO”! You should of saw our jaws and he must of because he tried back-stepping from what he said. Anyways we have left and only order from their website. FYI Justin from Menswear House/JosephABank 800 customer service was great. My husband frequently shops at Menswear House off Sam Rittenberg now. Same stuff and company
Unfortunately this place did not have a very good selection and the salesperson was not very interested or excited to help us, which I get, one gets tired, but still, we're happy to wedding shop. They had only one cream suit, we're looking for a tan tux. They did not offer online opportunities or ordering anything. We said we'd compromise on grey and he said the only one they had was on the mannequin, as we stared at it for a min we decided to leave. Thank you Jos. A. Bank.....
So where to begin on this nightmare of a journey. I will say this their tailor and Ken Lockett are the only two good things about that store. So I purchased alot now from Menswear House off of Sam Rittenburg and Jospeh A Bank website. Their Reserve/Abboud line is amazing. Just ordered a customer Joe from Menswear. But back to the Nightmare. I was literally disrespected and shamed for returning a suit that didn't feel comfortable and was tight. Own 3 of their suits now and 4th on the way so yes the suit was off. But the manager/staff that did the return was astonishingly rude and disrespectful. I literally felt so bad that it sickness my stomach typing this post. I have not returned back to this store since and wish I could because my favorite clothes are the reserve brand. Just do yourself the favor don't go here travel the extra 30mins to Menswear House in Charleston or Mount P!
Had a terrible experience last year with Men’s Warehouse for a complete tux rental for prom so we decided to try Jos. A. Bank in Summerville. First, we got the wrong color vest so the day before the prom we had to make an extra trip to pick up the right one. When getting ready, a string was hanging from the hem of the pants . I looked and it was continuous and half had already pulled out. I’m no seamstress, so the stress level just increased. I had to hem the entire cuff. Took the tux back and the salesman acted like no big deal and didn’t really care!
We have been dressed by Joel for two generations and he is an excellent haberdasher; however, in Joel’s absence we were taken care of by Zach. He was exceptional! Joel look out! He provided confident opinions and was very patient and accommodating. He knew what was cool and what would good for the occasion. I love the Summerville branch of this store. One receives Downtown treatment for very reasonable prices. Thank y’all! We will be back!! Next time the caramel macchiato-iced-is on us.
I go in to ask about a sponsorship and was told they don't, so that's fine. I ask about a tailored jacket and all to look at different colors and because the salesman thought it was a joke or whatever, he didn't help me find anything. So I'll go to New Yorker for any suits.
Horrible salesman named Zack was condescending, rude, and huffy at any question asked. Walked in with my husband to buy a suit and shirts and blazer for our son traveling for work. We had questions about fit, cut, material used, and what "Traveler" line of suits entails. Every question was treated as an offense to Zack. One comment Zack made was that he was "trying to help evolve the style sense" of my son. He belittled every comment and question made by me. He didn't try at all to find out what my son, the customer, wanted. He was just beyond the pale of rudeness. Zack completely ruined the sale by his behavior, and arrogance. I walked out mad and entirely frustrated. Came home to look online and find copious negative reviews of this store. The shocking thing is that this behavior by salespeople continues, and the store has such ridiculously rude salespeople. Jos. A. Banks is a family tradition for us. We will NEVER shop here again. Jos. A. Banks needs to restock their store with salespeople that are helpful and friendly and without a trace of hubris or arrogance. Otherwise, customers will continue to walk out disgusted with this store.
