I came over for lunch. It’s a tricky parking job because the address is on Del Monte, but the parking area is located on Broadway. I was seated quickly and right away I noticed how clean the interior was and the alcohol on behind the bar. They did have a tv on a soccer match, but they had music playing. They do have high-chairs & booster seats for the kids, and their restroom was very clean. As for the food, the chips were really fresh and the salsa was very good. A little on the spicy side, but good. I had the enchiladas. One was chicken, beef & cheese with green sauce. I like the brûlée cheese on top and the small salad, but that’s where the positives stop. The green sauce that was on top of the enchiladas had a citrus/sour taste. It really made the dish hard to eat. The chicken inside the enchilada was very dry. Very disappointing. With all of the other Mexican options around, I don’t think I’d try this place again. Price: $27 includes a 20% tip
Super fresh mom and pop taqueria. Everything had fresh ingredients and was made to order. Don't miss the ground beef tacos...I know what you are thinking...but it was great! Service was fast and friendly, the restaurant was clean and well maintained. The highlight of Mexican food on my visit to Monterey.Food: 4/5
We love this place! The food is good and the margaritas are amazing! Nancy, Brian, and Elizabeth make amazing drinks and are so friendly! We always feel at home here!! Highly recommend- the enchiladas are chef’s kiss!
Jose’s is great. It has been our Mexican food standard for the last few years. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Food is great and nicely priced. Fish tacos and shrimp fajitas are fresh, yum and they provide generous portions all around. If the standard salsa is not for you just ask for the mild and hot green salsas.
Best Mexican food! What I love the best is when you cut into their chimichanga, you get all the good bits of meat, cheese, rice, and beans...even at the ends where most places don't pack it in. Ask for extra quac and you'll be in heaven. Get the shredded beef. They are amazing. Friendly servers, cold drinks, and a great chill vibe. Vegetarian options: Not that I've had any of them, but total vegetarian options on the menu. Parking: Parking is limited, but there is parking just across the street which is super close. Kid-friendliness: Always see kids here. Wheelchair accessibility: There is one handicap parking spot.
Small place but very busy was here on a Friday night and it was packed. Had a very small local cantina feel to it, staff was very friendly. Quite noisy but then again it was a Friday night so it's to be expected. Had the chicken nachos and they were very good lots of cheese and a good amount of meat, Did not skimp on the cheese I would say at least 3/4 to a full pound of cheese on them. Spices on chicken were good but reminded me more of a Jamaican Jerk chicken then mexican. Parking: Actual parking lot has maybe 7 spots.if I remember correctly, so u either need to find somewhere on a side street or park across from restaurant and risk walking across a major street and intersection
I was taken there by my good friends after the passing of my father. I had not eaten in two days .. SO.. they said we’ll go here .. I was Very disappointed after getting ready to munch the Enchiladas were flavor-less and the rice tasted old reheated or something. The server asked if I was Sad .. yes your food is a C- worst Mexican Food. Will have to go to Salinas for good Food … Thank you …
Food was great, alot of selections. Waitress was great. Got busy fast. Male waiter was rude. Didn't ask about checks. Forced us to pay total on two cards or one card. When we asked, he said .."not my problem". Highly recommend to ask for separate checks, first!!
Great experience, very nice, friendly and charming people. Food was delicious. Clean and well maintained restaurant. Highly recommend
This was the site of my husband's and my first date... it was also the site of our 2nd date. That was nearly 15 years ago, and they are still one of our favorites. The people are amazing, the kind of family you want to support! The food is fantastic and it is inexpensive and fast, real food at a great price, fantastic for a weeknight quick meal. Thank you for being there! Love you guys!! Kid-friendliness: My son loves it here!! Great kids menu, and really wonderful about kid specific substitutions
