Journal Square Transportation Center

Description

The Journal Square Transportation Center is a multi-modal transportation hub located on Kennedy Boulevard at Journal Square in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. Owned and operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the complex includes a ten-story tower, a retail plaza, a bus terminal, a two-level parking facility, and the Journal Square station of the PATH rail transit system. The underground station has a high ceiling and a mezzanine level connecting the platforms. The upper level of the station contains a bank of escalators leading to street level, elevators to parking, and a series of escalators leading to the street-level bus bays.History and vicinityThe JSTC was originally the site of the Summit Avenue Station of the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad. Summit Avenue station was built on April 14, 1912. The district was renamed Journal Square in the 1920s.The open-spandrel concrete arch bridge carrying Kennedy Boulevard and the station, built in 1926, is a pared-down version of a more ambitious elevated plaza scheme proposed by consulting engineer Abraham Burton Cohen. Passageways were suspended from the arches to connect the railroad station to bus stops on the bridge deck above. The original mid-roadway bus stop islands have since been removed.

For NJ Transit buses: it would be nice to have a screen with Bus Departures and which buses are delayed AS WELL AS which platform the bus will depart from within the middle of each platform. All waiting areas should have a "shelter or room" because when it's winter, you're waiting outside freezing!
So I’m at the light at central and 139 route. A jersey city bus #5740 runs the light, speeding at that. How can we hold these buses accountable? My fellow jersey city residents who do I reach out to? When I say I was scared these kids were about to get ran over. By the way there is also a traffic cam where it happened. 8:50 this morning central and 139route. Today’s date is 2/11/2020. Students are still trying to get to school. Some sort of reprimand needs to be done. Someone could have been killed.
I really like the tranquility of the area, inside there is a dely store that sells very tasty lasagna. And this train takes me to New York. Hoboken I love so much
