Hi I'm Jen, a Certified Holistic Health Coach and healthy cooking fanatic. Healthy cooking is my passion. Not boring plain brown rice and steamed broccoli healthy cooking. Delicious, joyful healthy food that energizes you and excites you! It is my mission to help people learn how to, get reinspired to, motivated to, whatever they are needing to get in their kitchen and cook. Eating restaurant, take out, frozen, pre packaged meals is the currently the down fall of our society. To properly nourish our bodies and our families bodies, we need to cook. It's that simple. Check out the list of my services and my cleanses and challenges to see how I can help you get there.
It's also my passion to help people deal with food sensitivies. It is said that 95% of us suffer from food sensitivies and allergies daily and have just learned to live with the symptoms. Symptoms can range from headaches, migraines, anxiety, brain fog, blurred vision, skin issues, digestive issues, breathing issues, mood issues, irritablity and more.
My children and myself have many food sensitivies, so for years I have been working around these sensitivies to find and create recipes that are delicious and healthy, while eliminating the foods we are sensitive to. And I am here to tell you, it can be done!
I have a husband (meat eater), an 18 year old son (meat eater), a 16 year old daughter (vegetarian) and a 4 year old son (vegan), and I am a vegan. So aside from dealing with the food sensitivies, I am also cooking for a variety of diets. And I have become a master at it, if I do say so myself. Along this journey I discovered the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and their health coaching program, and it was as if my path just opened wide up for me (with beautiful rays of sunshine shining down on it) and I knew that I needed to pursue a career as a health coach and share what I had learned from my own experience.
When I was in middle school, I found a quote in a magazine that said "Don't accept less than a Joyful Life.". I cut it out and taped it to my headboard. That quote has moved with me everywhere I have lived and is now taped inside my kitchen cupboard. That is how I have always tried to live my life, not accepting less than joyfulness.
When I was trying to come up with a name for my health coaching business, one day I opened my kitchen cupboard and saw that tattered magazine clipping and thought "that is what I want to share with people, I want to help them find a joyful life".
A lot of people think that being healthy means eating disgusting "health food", torturing yourself with exercise, and basically living a boring life--and I used to be one of them.
I have found that a joyful life is one filled with health and happiness. My mission as a health coach is to help people find their joyful life through delicious healthy foods they enjoy and excercise they love and want to do, which will lead to weight loss, relief from chronic medical conditions and annoying health issues, and overall improved health and happiness.
Besides the food that we eat, my program also focuses on "primary foods", which are relationships, career, physicial activity and spirituality. Finding a healthy balance between these is what Joyful Living is all about.
