The Jackson Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit is made up of sworn police officers assigned for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life for all citizens in each of the four (4) precincts throughout the city of Jackson, Mississippi. Its mission seeks to implement the community policing/government program using a holistic approach that unites law enforcement, housing, social services, and education. It works to identify, analyze and address those conditions that detract from the enjoyment of our everyday lives, as well as those circumstances that foster criminal activity in our neighborhoods.
Our Mission is to develop a multi-agency holistic approach to addressing citizen concerns, Identify, analyze and find solutions to conditions that cause criminal behavior, make site-visits to identify potential problems before they become unmanageable,Implement available resources as needed on a case-by-case basis and Organize seminars and community meetings to meet the needs of the community.
