Description

We are a Volunteer Fire Dept., with trained fire fighters. Are district covers approx 38 square miles in northern Gregg County, just north of the City of Longview. The department is a 501 3C non profit Corporation which operates under a 7 member board of directors which meets monthly. Our primary mission for which we were founded is fire protection. Our volunteer fire fighters all go through formal training as required by SFFMA (State Firemen's & Fire Marshals' Association of Texas).
In the past year and a half, the board of directors acquired 3 new booster fire trucks to provide our volunteers with state of the art wild fire booster trucks. Two of these trucks were designed by our members to meet the specific fire protection needs in our service area. In July 2013 we purchased a new E-1 attack pumper. Look for upcoming pictures of our new fleet on our Facebook page and website: http://www.JudsonMetroVFD.com

In response to public request our Facebook page was started after the 2011 Wild Fire season which was very active and destroyed thousand of acres. We also have a twitter account - www.Twitter.com/JMVFD . The primary purpose of these social media pages is Community Education and Outreach where the public will find interesting, pertinent articles on fire safety as well as how to develop an All Hazards Preparedness plan for their business, families, students etc.
In the event of a major wild fire, natural or manmade disaster we would use these various mediums to update the public. However in the event of wide spread power outages this service could be interrupted, therefore we encourage you to enroll in the Gregg County Code Red notification program. You can enroll for free by going to our home page and clicking on the big read button. In the event of a severe weather or a major event this system would call your cell or home phones and notify you of the threat and where to go. It's FREE got to www.JudsonmetroVFD.com and enroll today.
