Juice Me Healthy was created in April 2014, shortly after our CEO Jeri-Ann Gelinas was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease & Colitis - September 2011.
After being viscously sick for months, she started doing her own research and completely altered her lifestyle: juicing, changed her diet, daily exercise and took herself off all pharmaceuticals. Within a couple months she noticed significant improvements, and within a year — completely reversed the disease, naturally!
Maintaining this lifestyle, she is now healthier than ever and wants to share the goodness of juicing!
Her main goal is to help improve the health of others by inspiring common goals.
How you can live-it-up with juicing in your diet:
1. Incorporate juice into a daily diet with meals/ or as a snack - this will give you energy throughout the day
- Juice for a meal - your body will use the energy that it's not using to digest your meal, to cleanse; this enables your body to get extra nutrition with lower calorie intake (helps with weightloss)
- Juice cleanse/ fasting - helps your body take in the best form of nutrition, cleaning out cells and correcting common health issues
Juicing is the best way to give your body a break from processed and cooked foods. Raw vegetables and fruits are naturally high in enzymes and nutrients! A juice cleanse is designed to allow our body to use less energy on digesting solid foods and more energy on healing your body back to optimum health! Or, as I recommend, you can juice every day as a power boost of nutrition!
Three days before starting a juice cleanse, you should drink hot water with lemon and ginger, and tea; eliminate any caffeine, sugars, and meat.
If you are a first time cleanser, depending on your level of detoxification, you may experience lightheadness and/or some nausea.
These symptoms go away after your body gets used to the detox cleanse, usually after 24 hours. But, after a couple days, you will start to feel a lot more energized and revitalized! After doing a 1-3 day cleanse, and once you understand how your body responds to the cleanse, I recommend having a juice daily as a multivitamin and trying longer cleanses. After regularly consuming freshly pressed juices, your body will experience improved energy levels, better digestion, clearer skin, mental clarity and overall a sense of wellbeing.
