What a lovely spot! And cute goats too, of course. Definitely worth stopping here.
This goat dairy has the feel of a small, locally-owned farm with mountain charm. The store carries an array of local products, including goat milk cheeses made on site. The best part of the farm tour was petting and playing with the baby goats. It would have been even better to see the goat milking and cheese making process in action. I would recommend visiting this farm on your next trip to Buena Vista!
This place was great! Cute goats & yummy cheese.
Very friendly owner's/staff. Good selection of goat cheeses and cheese spreads along with some pickles, jams, hot sauces, honey, hats, pictures, books on cheese, and so forth. They do sell bottle and canned drinks if you are thirsty. They have farm tours that take about an hour and the kids loved it. They got to hold and feed the goats.
We stopped because a co-worker recommend we swing by since we were in the area. We were not disappointed. They have a variety of goat cheese products. We purchased some cheese, cheese spreads, and cheese curds. I also noticed a freezer with pork products so I bought a package of ham steak. I had the jalapeno garlic spread on a burger tonight and it wad amazing! My wife really enjoyed the first snow goat cheese she had on her burger. Definitely a place we will stop by again if we are in the area. The staff, dogs and goats were all very friendly as well.
What a lovely experience hanging out with the baby goats. We learned pretty early on that they try to eat your clothes but if you run away from them they will chase you. It's the cutest thing. We also left with about six different types of cheese, some strawberry habañero jam and a rack of ribs. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area.
This place is amazing! You can sample most of the cheeses and they're all worth it. It's also not super pricey., either. The animals are all friendly and the goats were begging to be pet.
I'm glad there is a Goat farm out here in BV. There's nothing better than local products. Prices were a little high but the cheese is great.
Very fun place to visit. We had a few snacks and the lip balm we got was really nice. The woman in the store on site was friendly and kind. Wish we had gone on a tour day, but now we know! We’ll be back
We rushed to get here, coming around 4:40, knowing that they close at 5pm. We were hoping to buy some goat cheese. We wanted to buy it right away, but the woman working there told us to go on the self guided tour with 'so much enthusiasm'. We went, which only lasted about 10 min and then were heading toward the store to buy cheese. However, the woman closed up shop around 4:55pm. We ran into her, asking if it was possible to buy cheese, which we thought she understood from showing up in the first place, but she said, "sorry I close at 5" even thought it wasn't 5. She got in her car without any care and drove off quickly. This was really upsetting for us, and hopefully this farm finds someone better to work for them.
