We have lived in JC for 9 months. I have needed to call for JCPD's assistance twice and both times they were quick and helpful. One incident I asked for them to patrol the area throughout the night because of a break in next door and my husband being on a 24hr duty. They did just that! Another incident was of a man indecently exposing himself at a Walmart parking lot. JCPD quickly responded, one officer assisted me and another quickly found and arrested the man after he took off. Each encounter the officers have been respectful and helpful.
Granted I called after hours to inquire about concealed carry laws as I'm moving from Ft Campbell to Ft Riley, the operator set the phone down and I got to listen to him talk to whoever else was there with him about someone using his tea bag and there wasn't enough for him to make a cup of tea for himself, listen for 6 minutes of the conversation before hanging up the phone. Not to pleased I'm moving my family to a town protected by these people.
Rolled though a stop sign trying to pick up my oldest from school I admit should of stopped more. However a $106 admin fee for $75 failure to stop charge? They profile military and personally target military personal. I wish that cops were there to protect and serve like they even intended.
I hate the highway police. I was driving from 70 to I-18 Manhattan on August 5th, 2017 before I left for deployment. There was NEVER a speed limit sign up saying 70 miles per hour. I was driving at 75 thinking it was same as highway 70. When I come back after more than 9 months. There are three signs up!!!! Good to know my taxes and ticket paid to put three signs up. Another thing is there is no police presence at the parks and recreation. My daughter hates going to the park with her friend because she see's homeless guys drinking alcohol
My grandfather died and in his will he gave me his boat. That same boat got stolen a year 2013 after he died. A couple weeks ago in 2018 i got a call saying that the new trainees were looking into cases that where never started. My boat was found. Then yesterday they told me I can’t get my stolen boat back because it was bought in “good faith”. I’m disappointed not only in the fact that this “police” department didn’t even try to look for my stolen property that it took them a new team and 6 years to look for it. If the new recruits could find it why couldn’t them. And also shouldn’t I be able to get my boat back? My name is on the actual title, I may not know much about laws but I do know this is not a place I would live if people like them are supposed to help people.
Was not helpful or interested in helping me ship my stloen shotgun that was recovered in Virginia. Pretty much told me to pack sand. This was my second encounter that left me wondering if they are truly there to serve the citizens of JC.
I am going to be moving to junction city from Orange County ca and I contacted the police to confirm the constitutional conceal carry and open carry laws. I am very pleased with the friendly attitude and the information I received from one of the girls female officer who awnsered the phone. She did not rush me or refer me to some website but awnsered my questions entirely from what's legal to what's normal...
Ask the K9 office and his K9 to come and do A demonstration at our nursing home. Police Chief okayed it, and officer came and did a awesome job our residents loved it. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day.
I think the junction city Police Department is fair professional and good for our community . I would like to give a shout out to Office Blake. He is one of the most fair and courteous professional police officers I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
When I was pulled over earlier this month the officer put on my ticket : “No registration or expired tags” My registration was suspended. Even the judge was concerned that the police officer didn’t write the correct information on my ticket.
