JCDT is a non-profit water search and rescue organization assisting the Juneau County Sheriff's Office for emergency and non-emergency incidents.
In addition to assisting the sheriff's office, we are also privately contracted by people like you to recover desired items. For emergencies, please contact the sheriff's office immediately. For all other requests, call or message us.
We can search and recover: snowmobiles, other submerged vehicles, fishing gear, wallets, and even wedding rings. Note the last known location, mark it with a buoy or GPS, and contact us.
If you would like us to do a presentation for an event or stage for an event, please contact us. We have done presentations for snowmobile clubs, polar plunges, and other organizations. Our presentations vary from ice safety, responding to emergency situations, location identification, and summer fun safety.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the dive team, please feel free to contact us. Previous experience in search and rescue, scuba diving, or emergency response is desired, but not required.
The objective of the Juneau County Dive Team is to have highly trained personnel located throughout the county to respond to any type of water related incident. We work in conjunction with other emergency first-responders throughout Juneau County with mutual aid to neighboring counties, specifically in water-rescue operations. This will encompass lakes, ponds, rivers, streams and other bodies of water in both calm and swift water conditions. In order to adequately meet the various challenges which may arise, members will need to keep updated with the latest technologies and underwater techniques through on-going training.
