Our Farms
We are a network of microfarms in the Detroit area producing fruits and vegetables for CSA and farmers' markets. Our vision is to acquire vacant city lots, renew the soil, provide jobs and small-business training to local residents currently on welfare, and produce fresh food for our community.
Our Purpose
We desire to see the city of Detroit recover from economic disaster. This downturn is an American tragedy; if it can happen in Detroit, it can happen anywhere in our country. With the 80,000 vacant homes and 100,000 vacant lots in Detroit, our urban agriculture business model can revitalize the land, employ a large number of people, and provide wholesome, local, natural food. We want Juniper Tree Farms to bring life to the land and the people.
