I’ve gone to many of these events but Coon Rapids and Maple Grove seems by far the most organized.  This year I became a consigner and team member.  Volunteering at least 4 hrs will help boost how much % you get back but not only that volunteering was extremely fun and people are so kind and helpful.  You get to see the ins and outs and really understand how much work it takes to set up these sales.  Biggest advice is to shop the presales for BEST deals from price to quality.  Unfortunately some items are overpriced but again if you shop early you’ll find the best stuff for the best price.  Otherwise hit up half day Sunday sales!

Overpriced used items. Used and fairly worn out clothing were priced at $15-20 in some instances. Even used or worn shoes were being listed at $10-20. I would rather buy new at Target or Old Navy. The other downside to the most recent JBF event was that I noticed more sellers were selling certain clothing items together and upcharging for the set. For example a brand new shirt coupled with torn or worn out jeans that were listed as $15 for the set. I wouldn't mind the new shirt but why would I spend extra money for worn out jeans?  Furthermore, I provided feedback to the JBF team regarding the issues above. The response I received was that ultimately the consignors have the final say on the listing price. Although I appreciate their response, it is unfortunate and almost a waste if time to sift through aisles of clothing to find one or two clothing items that are priced reasonably. I had more luck in the toys and books sections.  I would recommend this for first time mothers as there are many other things to potentially buy for your newborn. However, it is not an ideal place to buy reasonably priced and quality clothing.

Always lots to choose from. Know your prices! Some items will be priced higher than sale prices in the stores. Found a swim floatie with the target pricetag on  it, it was marked down to $4 just between friends wanted $12.  Overall worth taking a look!

Was pretty picked through and overpriced for sure. New prices for old beat up clothing. Sad.

Lots of good kids stuff.  Some good deals, and some not so good deals, but overall great
