From the moment I walked in here.. I was greeted with kindness and energy! The staff was so friendly and helpful with any questions I had. I was invited back to pop in anytime. I would say the customer service was more than I have had at a cafe in a long time! I give this place 5 Jerry the pigeon gives it 5 as well Follow #JerryThePigeon on Instagram for more food & fun recommendations.
Food and beverages are great here. What is not mentioned in the reviews is how ornery and incredibly rude half of the customers are who stay at the Drake, while expecting minimum wage workers from the south side to give two sh!ts about their customers problems. I was witness to it last visit, woman was berating the cashier and barista worker for about 20 minutes. Ironic she was woke and so critical. Regardless, great cafe with tasty food and beverages. Probably best coffee in Chicago, but a rare anomaly in a strange location.
Recommend: great coffee and food items. Unfortunately it seems only lavazza left in Chicago. Can be a bit slow during high traffic times but otherwise all great.Food: 4/5
I love to come here and relax with my thoughts and a good cup of Italian hot drinking chocolate with a chocolate croissant. The quiche here is absolutely delicious and all the croissants and pastries are baked fresh every morning by the pastry chef at the Drake hotel. The vibes are always positive and Galdina always greets the guests here with a huge smile and excellent service. Such friendly vibes from start to finish
Esprssion should be skipped. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, a frappe, and a scone. The employee at the register was incredibly rude when asked what flavors were offered for the frappe considering they aren’t posted. All of the baked items were rock-hard, dried out, and tasted like they had been made three days ago. They also messed up both sandwiches, replacing bacon with ham on one and replacing the croissant with a dried biscuit on the other. For $36, you would be better getting breakfast and coffee from one of the many convenience stores. Truthfully, the “pretzel” from the Field Museum is better quality and a better value.
Our FAVORITE coffee shop in the entire city!! Love this place so much. Besides the best coffee, the staff is super AMAZING. Thank You Aubrianna, Lutarsha, Monique, Ariel, and Tamika. Grazie Mille :Food: 5/5
The last Lavazza in Chicago. Small café with decent amount of seating in The Drake arcade. Prices are fair and service is great. My drip with oat milk was delicious and tasted fresh even for later in the dayFood: 5/5
Very sweet staff. Okay coffee. Tasty bakery items.Food: 4/5
Prompt, easy, lovely ladies working, and the egg and cheese croissant was quite good! Cold brew delicious as well. 5 stars if it weren’t so overpriced for the sizes of what I got. $12 for smaller coffee and a half croissant, but still good
Good, but expensive. I come here often when I’m nearby, but wouldn’t usually go out of my way to visit. I recommend the mochas and the muffins.
