Kalkaska Museum

About

The museum is open June, July and August, or by appointment Admission is FREE but we do take donations.

Description

The Village of Kalkaska owns the Museum building. The Historical Society leases the building. The Museum is maintained by contributions, memberships, and memorials. Volunteers from all over our county make it possible to keep the Museum open to the public. At Christmas it is beautifully decorated with miniature lights. Santa and his sleigh with eight reindeer are mounted on the Museum roof in a display to be enjoyed by local people as well as by our winter visitors.

Mission

Our aim is to present to the public a factual account of the history of Kalkaska County, to mark the sites of as many of the old landmarks as possible, and to promote a Museum devoted to memorabilia of Pioneer Days.
