Visited several times over the years. MOST RECENTLY Sunday, July 16, 2023. Side note will be watching another game on 7/17 too! In 2005 my husband, b-I-l and I took a road trip to visit several ball parks. Kaufman Stadium and the KC ROYALS was one of them. It was a hot summer day and they played the Yankees. Evidently, they captured my husbands eye and heart. Simply put, he became a fan of the underdog team. Fast forward to present day: The atmosphere still holds a relaxed, come with your family or friends and enjoy a day watching a game. They ended the series crushing the TB Rays 8-4! Witt, Jr. had a great game along with Melendez and outstanding pitching by Singer. Unfortunately, after Salvy slide into home he was taken out due to an injury. Pulled a hami. Oy vey… The game wasn’t a sell out. Actually due to t-storms. But once we got there it was exciting as it always is heading to a ball game. Sadly, from when we first visited many years ago to now, you can see the age. I know they want to rebuild elsewhere but I hope they use or create similar to the current stadium such as the KC Royal Marquee with its crown, the fountains, Hall of Fame. It’ b great if they install fans throughout the sections for the hot, stifling days. But we had a great time. Look forward to the next visit! The one negative: parking prices are atrocious! $30/car Overall: 4/5 stars!
Always an adventure. Lots of energy at a game you feel like it's all family. Fun!!
Loved everything. This stadium was beautiful. Make sure to bring a clear purse or a very small clutch purse only. No purses or backpacks.
Thank you Cheryl stadium golf cart driver for giving us a lift through the parking lot to our car. We had a great time at the game.
Arrived and parking was great: not a bad walk into the stadium. Am told at the gate that I can't bring in my cross-bag purse I'll check the size at home as it's tiny. After getting back inside NO ONE says anything about BOBBLEHEADS, and we turn to meet our friends in the smoking area. My husband goes back to get one and is accosted and told he came from inside the park and can't have one. He responds "that's fine" and the man yells "I will have you escorted out." Okay, fine, "security" for bobbleheads is tight. HOWEVER, no one checked any tickets inside ANYWHERE, even in the dugout box seats. Thus, we were sitting in our seats and were angrily ordered to move by someone with tickets 1 section over. Simply having ushers check tickets at the top of the stairs would prevent this. Love the team, love the city, y'all could work on your customer service.
I just love being at the K, regardless of the outcome of the game. Easy to walk around, great views of the field and of TVs if in line somewhere. Also, this year they brought in great local KC barbecue on the main concourse behind first base. Go support some of our best pitmasters serving fun, stadium friendly BBQ items
What a beautiful ballpark! We didn’t have tickets so we walked right up to the gate and bought tickets for $41 each. It was free T-shirt day so we were able to get a T-shirt as well! We got tickets in the lower 200 section, which were great seats! Not a bad place to sit in the entire stadium! By the end of the game we were able to sit right behind home plate. The outfield seats by the fountains are pretty awesome and I would recommend sitting out there if you get an opportunity. The funnel cake stand was bomb!
Getting back to the ballpark after over a year is been surreal, few things to consider is you have to buy your tickets online in the MLB page or ballpark app, including the parking. They are not allowing any cash transactions inside the park, you can still bring seal bottles of water, but no big purses or bags, you can take in a small purse or clear bag, I saw a lot of people with fanny packs. They have a lot of people at the entrance so the process is quick, they are not longer making you empty your pockets, you just have to walk through the metal detectors, they will scan your ticket on your phone and off you go. Your ticket will indicate what gate you have to enter to go to your seat, you can still ho and walk around the ballpark you just have to have your mask on. They have tie the empty seats to avoid people moving to other areas. Everything was organized. It was really nice to be able to be back at the ballpark.
Not sure who has the vending contract for the Royals, but it failed Royals fans on opening day 2023. Concession stands were running out of food and not enough food was being heated. The organization knows OD is one of the busiest if not the busiest days of the year - its performance matches that of the team.
The Royals stadium is ranked #6 architecturally designed top 10 best baseball stadiums in the United States. It is quite a pleasure to see, not so much the team. Only two or three Royals players are standouts. Watching the Royals baseball team this year is almost like a AAA basevall league but with major league prices! The Royals did not do so well this year. Mostly because of the management and owners. Patrons have to have clear purses and worse everything is paid by an app. Parking price is ridiculously expensive! Because of this app policy, we went on opening day and the last Friday fireworks night. The Royals museum on site is a must see for historical memorabilia.
