My name is Karen Ehlers-Harwell. I’m a graduate of Montgomery High School and have lived in Montgomery Texas since 1986. I graduated from Northwood University with a degree in business where I played golf for 4 years. I’m married to Roy David Harwell, a teacher/coach with Klein Oak High School. I have a dog named Rascal, who I consider to be my son along with 3 nephews and 1 niece whom I adore.
I come from a family of insurance professionals. My father is a State Farm agent for 35 plus years, my brother is a Farmers agent with 10 plus years, and my uncle is a retired State Farm adjuster with over 40 years in the business. My mother and sister in law Tina also work in their husbands agency's. I have worked for both State Farm during the summers away at college and was hired as an agency producer for 5 plus years with my brothers Farmers agency. I have gained knowledge and experience working for both companies. Unfortunately for them, they have one set of underwriting guidelines and one rate where I have many different companies so I can shop and find the best value for the money.
Karen Ehlers Insurance agency was founded in 2011 by a sister and brother team. Prior to founding Karen Ehlers Insurance, Karen and Brian previously worked for Farmers Insurance and State Farm Insurance. Their Father owned a State Farm Agency for over 26 years in Conroe. Both Brian and Karen started out working at State Farm. Brian left State Farm in 2000 opening his own Farmers Agency. Karen joined her brother at Farmers in 2006. In 2011 Karen decided to leave the captive side of insurance and open an independent agency. For over 30 years Ehlers Insurance has been serving the community for there insurance needs.
