Kathys Laundry

Attempted to use 2 of the triple load washers which cost $4 per load. Absolutely no water ever went into the washers. They also lock so you not only waste your money...you also waste time because the door will not open until it runs the entire useless cycle. Most of the machines have out of order signs on them and the rest need one hanging on them as well! Nothing seems to work in the entire building. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Called the number to report the problem and you guessed it...nobody answered even though the call was placed during the hours it said to call and report a problem! Find another place to do laundry!

Let me first start off by saying I had gone through at least 65 reviews of Kathy's Coin Laundry before going to Florida. I especially enjoyed the ones that simply said "Meetings Upstairs" and "Kathy's on site often and super friendly." I departed Chicago on 4/30/2022 for Kathy's on a fully packed Southwest 727-700. I arrived in a balmy 85 degrees and already had articles to wash and dry. I spent the day out and about dirting my clothes and getting my loins soddened. At approximately 9:42 pm on above date, I entered Kathy's Coin Laundry. My first initial impressions were that the flickering light bulb and unclasped neighbor's gate seemed a bit, as the kids say, "Sus". I entered.... and boy was I dead wrong. I didn't get to meet Kathy she may been out drinking with the boys like some of the reviews say. She doesn't use Uber or lyft. But I still had a blast. Not 1, not 2, but 3 Coin machines although one was broken im sure Kathy is fixing it as we speak. The vending machine was stocked with non edible items and sodas. Awesome. Only 2 machines were out of order and I got to take 2 free garbage bags. The bad reviews of "calling the police until they arrived in a firefighter cause Kathy drunk and nd bad" and " bathroom locked, went to meetings upstairs" were simply untrue. I wish I got to see a legendary Kathy sighting but the experience alone was a trip of a lifetime. I will be telling future kin of this. Oh and I also got to see 2 old rich people washing clothes so even the 1% were humbled at Kathy's. Oh and best part? While you wait for your clothes, there is a mermaid themed Gentleman's Club 2 blocks away! So go see and smell the aquatic life while you wait with your boys! So cool! Will come again. 12 out of 9!

Fairly priced. Very clean. My only issue is the toiled isn't working right now. I had to take the back off of it in order for it to flush. Also, having the toilet paper chained to the wall was a nice touch

Been going here for years. Always a good place to do your laundry. A lot of people don’t pick up after themselves when using this place which makes no sense to me. Only thing I would have a suggestion is to keep the rift raft people out of there in the wee hours of the mornings.

Parking lot is filthy. Not sure if one care, but it doesn’t give a good first impression. Some machines are out of order, last week the coin machine wasn't working, but they did have another. Machines that do work seem to be OK, washing machines and dryers. There are baskets to move your clothes from the washing machines to dryers, and room at ta less to fold your laundry. It's nice that there is a bathroom, but it's filthy, toilet paper is chained on, and nothing to dry your hands with

This place is cleaned daily. Never had a problem with any of the machines. Open 24 hours with a/c. Great place.

Very clean, well equipped and manager on duty to assist you. Security cameras for your safety and offer wash, dry and fold service.

Fantastic experience there today, 7/29/22. On Vacation and needed a batch done, clean, courteous, and quick. Didn't waste too much of our vacation time. Simply perfect for our needs. Thank you Kathy. Dave and Steph.

Nobody answers the phone and the mailbox is full...dryers 7, 10, and 10a, are broken. Probably wasted a good $5 on broken equipment. Also they dryers don't run as long as other in the area.

I love coming here to do my laundry. It’s clean and there are signs to clearly show which machines are not working at the moment. I enjoy the music that plays and the fact that there’s a bathroom available. The area doesn’t seem to be shady so I don’t mind coming late at night to wash, which is another plus that this laundromat is open 24 hours.
