This is a call for help and a call to action! Too many times growing up #latino have we seen our hardworking non-English speaking parents, be taken advantage of. Not being paid fairly for their hard work or in this case not being paid at all. From April to the 1st week of May my mother was working for @kaufmanfranco Her first paycheck was paid to her 5 days after she should have received it , only because I kept insisting she ask her boss Ken Kaufman for it. 2 weeks after her first paycheck that she had to beg for the NY Marshall closed the space they were working in. I advised my mom not to leave without her paycheck as she was supposed to get paid that day. Being a humble woman, who also does not speak the language her boss Ken Kaufman would find ways to intimidate her into not asking for her pay. He was always too “busy” to talk or looking for a new “space”. Weeks pass as my mom continues to text him and call his associates to ask about her owed wages. @kaufmanfranco would give her vague answers and bring up her employment trial or any other nonsense that has nothing to do with my mom being paid for her work. It turns out this man has NO intention of paying her. There are multiple Latinos that work for him that have not been paid in months. As a daughter of a single mother who sacrificed everything and works hard to earn a living I cannot sit and watch yet another person try to take advantage of her. This is unjust. It has been over 4 weeks and this man still refuses to pay her. The only reason I stepped in is because he was refusing to answer her calls and texts. This man does not pay his employees pls beware.
