The Kaye Prox Food Bank provides bi-weekly supplemental food for individuals, families and the elderly in need.
The Kaye Prox Food Bank gratefully accepts donations of both money and of food and personal care items. Donated funds are used to make purchases from Feeding America Tampa Bay (formerly called America’s Second Harvest of Tampa Bay.) The food bank is able to buy food, and personal and household care items from this organization at highly reduced prices, paying only handling fees. Funds are also used to purchase meats and other needed food from local wholesalers when these are not available from Feeding America Tampa Bay.
No funds are used for salaries or overhead. The food bank is housed in the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Town and Country at no cost. Volunteers do everything to organize and run the food bank.
Some employers match funds donated to community organizations such as the Kaye Prox Food Bank. Please check to see if your employer participates in such a program.
And, consider making a donation as a holiday gift or in honor of a birthday, anniversary or other event.
Please make checks payable to the Kaye Prox Food Bank and send to the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 8401 W Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33615
As an embodiment of our belief that we are called to care for others as we care for ourselves, the Kaye Prox Food Bank will provide emergency food to needy families and the elderly in our community.
On Wednesday and Friday afternoons, the food bank serves individuals and families in need from Town ‘n Country, Westchase, Citrus Park, and Northdale.
