I have such a love for the KC Pet Project! This particular location is great for Northland families to learn about the importance of adopting, fostering, volunteering, and being a good steward to animals for ALL ages. This location does accept donations, so I love bringing supplies to this spot. There's a retail shop in the storefront including some Charlie Hustle shirts, toys, and means to donate to the shelter. Please consider adopting because the shelters are usually quite full! In years past, there have been some fun adoption and awareness events involving Star Wars cosplayers. I only know this because I was one of them : Jonathan Van Ness adopted their pet here while filming one of the Netflix Queer Eye seasons, too!!! My cat is an alumni of KCPP and I'm so grateful for this organization
My sis and I make little quilts for the cat beds. Each kitty has one in its cage that can go home with him when he is adopted. It kinda makes him feel at home. We took some in yesterday and visited the kitties. I have adopted from here several times. I have two cats right now that I have adopted from here. This is Charlie.
Long story short: we went in one day "to look" and we left with a cat We visited about three weeks to a month ago now. It was right after I had to put my 15 year old childhood cat down. I was sad and I wanted to look at cats. We hung around for over an hour maybe closer to two or three. Bless those poor workers I know they were sick of us but were too nice to say I didn't tell them why we were there, I couldn't speak it aloud but we played with some of the cats, and my boyfriend fell in love with a sweet little orange guy who we decided to name Gideon. It was tough having a new cat so soon after the last one, but I think he needed me as much as I did him. The silence hurt me more than his presence so for that, I thank KC Pet Project for putting up with my indecisive-ness and for being so good. Highly recommend. Enjoy the small spam
After going to several places to find a new kitty, I called KC Pet Project in Zona Rosa, and they told me they had a whole room of kitties to choose from! My children and I went and held several kittens, and one caught our eye. The process was easy, and the staff was friendly and were able to help with questions. We took him home that day, and he is an amazing cat!
My family just left Zona Rosa site. There was a worker who "got onto" my family twice about not touching the animals in there. Not once did any of the 4 of us touch the dogs nor kennels. I, at one point, held the back of my hand 6 inches away from a single kennel to see how the dog would respond to my scent. My husband did the same. She was rude and not kind in the slightest. I told her we weren't touching the dogs and/or kennels, to which she laughed and told her coworker she was "tired of telling us to stop touching the animals". We left after that. We NEVER touched a single animal! Rude! We will not be back to your facility.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the dogs. We found a great fit for our family, Dexter now Chinook. To our surprise this sweet boy is already kennel and housetrained. He is wonderful with my kids and is coming out of his shell more everyday. He is becoming an adventure dog and has explored a lot of our 360 acres with us. He is overall just a sweet and happy boy. He snorts like a pig qhen content and loves his treats. We are showerinf him with love and care. Thank you for helping us find a great fit for our family.
Was able to see 3 cats. However I was not able to see some due to them running and hiding. I am just trying to understand if you want to adopt one when you have no opportunity to spend time with them. Clean as you can with a bunch of dogs and cats. Overall good
Helpful attendants knowledgeable about my problem. This place is easily accessible by bus or car. Offered to check a stary kitten which found me for a micro chip. Lots of lonely dogs in clean cages looking bright eyed pick no pick me kind sir. Great place. Was given referral to Branch KC Pet project near the KC Zoo.
I came in today with my two children 9yo to adopt a puppy. Staff was kind and helpful, the facility was clean and organized, and we were on the way home within an hour with our new best friend! Thank you! Tilly is now Mikasa or Mika for short
SORRY, But" ODER" in the Zona Rosa KC Pet Projects building was Terrible the Last two times I was in there. Also, the Last time I was there, there were 3 women Talking around the Desk Laughing and as I walked around and looked at the Dogs, Not one of them ask if they could HELP Me! Adopted 2 dogs from the Old store several years back and had No issues then.
