Provides support for access to higher education and academic success for students admitted into the EEO/EOF Program.
The mission of the EEO/EOF Program is to provide support for access to higher education and academic success to students matriculated at Kean University via the alternate admission categories of the state grant-funded Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program. The EEO/EOF Program provides student-centered advising and counseling to assist students in developing intellectually, socially, culturally, and personally to reach the ultimate goal of completing the baccalaureate degree and entering the professional workforce or pursuing graduate studies.
The support services offered complement those provided to all students by the University. The EEO/EOF Program is dedicated to advancing Kean University’s dual mission of access and academic excellence. EEO/EOF staff work collaboratively with the Admissions Office in the recruitment of new freshmen applicants for the University and for the EEO/EOF Program. New transfer students are also served by the EEO/EOF Program.
The mission of the Exceptional Educational Opportunities (EEO)/Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program is to provide support for access and academic success to educationally and financially disadvantaged students, as defined by the Commission on Higher Education, Educational Opportunity Fund. Students are admitted via an alternate admission category and are eligible to receive state-funded Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Grant. The EEO/EOF Program provides student-centered advising, counseling and academic support services to assist students in developing intellectually, socially, culturally and personally to reach the ultimate goal of attaining the baccalaureate degree and professional fields of work or graduate studies. The support services offered by the EEO/EOF Program augment those offered to all students by the University and are dedicated to advancing Kean University’s dual mission of access and academic excellence. EEO/EOF staff works collaboratively with the Undergraduate Admissions Office in the recruitment of new freshmen applicants for the University and for the EEO/EOF Program.
The mission of PASSPORT is to provide support for access and academic success to students matriculated at Kean University via an alternate admission category. Those freshmen applicants seeking admission to Kean University who do not fully meet University admission requirements, but who are determined to have potential to both succeed academically, as well as positively contribute to the University, are admitted by the Undergraduate Admissions office into PASSPORT. PASSPORT enhances the University’s mission of access and excellence, provides student-centered advising and counseling to assist students in developing intellectually, socially, culturally, and personally to reach the ultimate goal of attaining the baccalaureate degree and entering the professional world of work or graduate studies. The support services offered by PASSPORT augment those offered to all students by the University. Within the EOC, students admitted into PASSPORT are served for their first two years of college study before they are more completely integrated into utilizing general student population services.
