The Story of the KeepSake Kabinet ...
When my mom was diagnosed with melanoma (skin cancer) I just did not realize how serious it was. It seems like we all live in a world where we do not think that this could happen to us or a family member. I think as humans we all try to believe that these illnesses are not real and that the doctors can cure us and everything will be fine. However; when my mother was first diagnosed the doctors claimed that she had several years left to live. But much too soon those years practically turned into weeks without any time to say goodbye, she died unexpectedly.
Everything happened so fast that the family was in absolute shock and great pain. Now it was time to put funeral arrangements together in what seemed like only a matter of minutes to prepare. It felt as though the world just collapsed and life was a big blur. There I was standing at my mom's funeral looking at a collage of photos laid out and nicely done on your typical piece of cardboard. Instantly an overwhelming feeling of emotions ran through me as I realized that this would be the last time I would see some of these photos of my mom and how she deserved to be remembered respectfully. And then it hit me.
If there were only something out there that could display pictures of a loved one with dignity and class, but most of all respect. I could then turn the great loss of my mother into a great gain by helping others who are struggling through a time of sadness. I then designed the Keepsake Kabinet to display loved ones with dignity and respect.
Photos of your loved one seem to stand out and come to life with this beautiful and unique display kabinet. As we all know there just is not a lot of time to prepare for a funeral so the Keepsake Kabinet is designed to put a beautiful display together in a timely manner.
If only I had the Keepsake Kabinet before my mom died she could have put something together herself for her loved ones so that she could create a display to be remembered the way she would have liked us to remember her.
