‏I was here in 2020, studying electronics at cody Hall, I'm Master Sargent, from Saudi Air Force, it was beautiful memories that i loved the city beach and local American people
Spent 4 years at Keesler AFB 1961-1965. Attended Airborne radar and nav. equipment repair and remained there as an instructor in the same school. Enjoyed my time there.
I HIGHLY recommend the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron for all you motorcycle shipping needs. They were easy to deal with. Showed up on time, quickly loaded it up & were off again. Would use again. Very professional crew
I was stationed there from March 1979 to December 1979. It was my tech base. I learned basic electronics and then advanced electronics. My job was as a Electronic Counter Measures Technician on the old F-4 fighter jets.. Biloxi Mississippi is The Most humid and hot place I've ever lived. I HATED the weather. The base was okay. Airman Steve over and out
Keesler Airforce Base is an amazing place.
Very good place I had a great time visiting there and near restaurants lots of seafood.
oh how i miss this base, which was my first duty station. I have been in various bases throughout my AF career and in 2 yrs i will be retiring from the military 18 years of service. Aside from Hurlburt Field, Keesler will always be my favorite base. So many memories, good and bad and not to mention Hurricane Katrina! Yes i was there when she hit the gulf coast.
A beautiful base. So many building are practically brand new along with many of the facilities. Huge dorm rooms and brand new sidewalks. A ten minute walk into town. A beautiful base exchange and commissary with everything you could need. My stay here is a short one but I would gladly return.
Today I dreaded to go and pick up my meds and buy a few groceries and could not believe how organized and friendly the staff was handling such a large stream of people, mainly retirees. There must have been about 35 cars in line and I wanted to leave but I needed one med that was out yesterday. They were so organized and efficient that it only took about 30 mins. which amazed me with that many ahead of me. The commissary was just as efficient and speedy. Thank you all for such a great crew of dedicated people.!!!!!! Kudos to the guard at the gate and commissary hand sanitizing stations everywhere. You people are so caring. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You and the volunteer who brought my groceries out to my car!!!
Spent 6 mos here in tech school in the winter and too long ago to publicize. I found winter on the Gulf to be cold, wet and breezy enough that the frozen wet chill blows through you. It is very different from the much colder winters up North where the humidity levels are much lower and where humidity dissipates quickly after snow storms. Never spent time here in the summer but people I know who live in the area say it is beastly hot and humid. Went back on business recently to the area and stopped by the base. Could not figure out how - or whether - former AF members can tour the base. No information anywhere....but at least I have fond memories of the place and people.
